My family (husband and three kids) stayed at HA Ocean Front Hotel for seven nights in July and we really enjoyed our stay. Nhung and Dat were especially helpful, but everyone we interacted with on staff was great.
The hotel is small and quiet and, to get to the beach, you only need to walk across the street. The beach is public so there isn't anyone who is paid to pick up the rubbish that washes up on shore, but that is normal in Vietnam. The beaches that are private are cleaner, but my husband and I didn't want to spend the money to stay at a place with a private beach and we were really happy with the beach across the road from HA Ocean Front. It was small and quiet. We used to live in Vietnam and the beach to go to 15 years ago was An Bang. Our Hoi An friends and expat friends that liked to visit Hoi An all went to An Bang because it was a nice beach that wasn't crowded. We went to An Bang on this trip and stayed for about 20 minutes because it was so busy and crowded and you cannot sit on a lounger without renting it. We were especially thankful for the peace and quiet of the beach near HA Ocean Front after that! The swimming pool at the hotel is small, but beautiful with comfortable loungers lining it and you can go directly from the sea to the pool. The hotel has an outdoor shower & faucet so people can rinse the sand off before swimming in the pool. It's very convenient.
Breakfast definitely exceeded our expectations. We knew when we chose the hotel that it was a pretty small place and the price to stay at HA Ocean Front is very reasonable so our expectations for the buffet breakfast weren't super high. We hoped it would be pretty good, but it was excellent for a small hotel! Every morning, there was a variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, cold cereal, a variety of hot Vietnamese dishes, dumplings, salad, bread to toast, baguettes and a good bit more I'm forgetting at the moment, as well as chefs waiting to make eggs however you wish, a bowl of pho or cao lau. Our only complaint about breakfast is the coffee. Since the coffee in Vietnam is almost always excellent just about everywhere, we were really surprised by how bad the coffee was at breakfast, but that is our one and only complaint. The coffees we ordered and paid for individually at the hotel were good. The atmosphere is beautiful. The hotel's first floor is all windowed doors that fold up so that the whole front of the hotel is open. You can sit inside or outside by the pool. Such a great atmosphere to enjoy breakfast in!
Our family needs two rooms at a hotel like this because there are five of us and we were given rooms next door to each other, which worked out really well for us. Our only complaints about the rooms themselves are 1) that the showers don't drain well and the water does run out over the rim of the shower into the rest of the bathroom (perhaps because of sand from the beach?) and 2) that there are not safes in the room, but, overall, we were very happy with rooms. Housekeeping was consistent with their timing and quick. They did an excellent job.
Other benefits at HA Ocean Front are bicycles that are free to use anytime and life jackets and towels guests can take across the road to the beach. There are a couple of excellent restaurants just down from the hotel, Mate and NiA. We went to both multiple times.
Hoi An ancient town is about a 15 minute Grab ride and there is a local bus that passes on the half hour so it is easy to get into town. This hotel is ideal for people who want to be near the sea and stay somewhere peaceful and quiet, while still being able to get into busy Hoi An town quickly and easily.
We definitely recommend HA Ocean...
Read moreOverall a really great value choice for your stay in Hoi An let down by a few really silly things. Peaceful area. Small relaxing ‘rustic’ beach across the road. The lovely An Bang Beach only a 10-min Grab ride away. 15-20 mins by grab to the spectacular Hoi An town centre. Really lovely housekeeping team and breakfast waiting staff. Lovely fruit bowl option for breakfast. We booked a sea view room with kitchenette through booking dot com. In fact they don’t exist! The sea view rooms are at the front of the property whilst the kitchenette rooms only overlook the rear of the property. Mei(sp?) the manager showed us into a rear/kitchenette room and when we realised she apologised and eventually found us a sea view room on the 5th floor with no kitchenette. We wanted to use the kitchen facilities so this was a little problematic for us. I asked Mei to consider including the breakfasts in our room rate and she promised to check with her manager. She never got back to me and I’m NOT going to ask twice so we just paid the whole bill which was reasonable anyway but the goodwill gesture was definitely missing on her part. I also let her know and showed her a photo of the windowsill in our shower cubicle which was covered in black mould. I politely asked her to ask the maintenance chap to clean and coat the sill as soon as possible; she agreed and asked when this could be done and I said “now is fine!” It was never done during our 4-night stay. We noted a slight mouldy smell in the room and this would have helped - it should have never got into this state in the first place. And finally, the nightmare mood ‘music’ at breakfast was intolerable!!! It was like water torture; drip, drip, drip until you go insane. I turned the volume down myself in the restaurant area a couple of times and switched the bloody TV off altogether this morning! Whoever thinks the guests want to listen to that constant ‘spa relaxation’ music needs their head seen to! Despite the above comments, we had a lovely relaxing stay in a beautiful area of Vietnam. But guys - do...

Firstly, this was by far one of the most welcoming experiences we have had (4th time in Vietnam) with the staff truly making this a great place to stay. We really have to call out to the staff here in Ryan (Đạt), Mia (Những) and Amy (Thịnh), plus all of the restaurant and bar staff, our favourite in house keeping (thanks for the daily hug) and of course the big boss in Ms Lenh (spelling)!
The rooms were large, comfortable, clean and with space to relax when you’re not in exploration mode across Hoi An and Da Nang. We were in 306-307 with the kitchen as the family room. It was ideal for us with two teenagers.
We were fortunate enough to experience the bottomless bbq and drinks package for New Years Eve which was amazing food, great drinks and the most fun with the staff you could have as everyone unwound and enjoyed the new year.
The restaurant was clean, fast and bloody delicious with good sized meals, amazing cocktails and delicious breakfasts.
During our journey my daughter and I got sick and the staff were nothing but caring, connected her to the local GP and arranged transport too. The housekeeping were amazing with checking in and the ginger and honey tea most certainly helped (thanks again Ryan).
Surrounding the location are many small restaurants all in walking distance and good quality. The beach is literally across the road and there is a mini mart behind.
Grab is cheap into old town (12-15mins) or wherever you go.
Overall it is easy to get around, is just outside of the noise of Da Nang, staff are amazing and you’ll be fully comfortable here at Ocean Front Hotel Hoi An.

Cảm ơn và không tạm biệt hay là...
