We spent four amazing nights here and it was incredible. The staff were so helpful and the facilities were excellent. We especially enjoyed watching movies on the approx 4mtr projector from the pool. Tau and Len were very accommodating and took us out to the local market to purchase fresh produce and then cooking dinner back at the house. Loic even organized a rum distillery tour, called Sampan which we thoroughly enjoyed and got to sample some of their different rums. When we were too tired to go out- they organized our evening dinners to be delivered to the house. We highly recommend Dingo Deli for the kids and Red Dragon for the adults. Everything requested for was delivered (even a fresh coconut from the garden!) The three large air conditioned bedrooms came with their own ensuite and also each had deep baths which were a godsent at night to cool down. Our 8 and 6 year olds loved the toys and games available. The pool was amazing-approx 10 mtrs in length and 2.5 mtrs wide, 1.2 Mtrs at the shallow end to 1.7 Mtrs in depth which was perfect to jump into. The house cleaner made our beds each day, tidied our rooms and did all of our washing. My wife felt unwell and the staff gave her some local natural medicine to take which worked a treat. A special mention to Len who is an amazing host, cook and spent time with our children...
Read moreMad-to-order breakfasts (including in stay) by former restaurant cook Len were amazing, with several choices to appeal to everyone. We also had a BBQ dinner on premises which was one of the best meals of my life. The hosts are attentive to every detail to make you feel welcome and pampered. The balconies have views of the rice paddies, and the front veranda is cozy for breakfasts. Host Loic doubles as a bartender. It's a fun unique experience winding around narrow roads in the neighborhood to reach this location.||||Len and Loic's warm hospitality really made our stay special. You can use the bikes on premises for free, and the hosts can arrange all kinds of activities for you. We had on-premise massages at a reasonable cost. You can even arrange for one of the neighbors to give you a water buffalo ride! ||||Just a couple things to note: There is construction noise early in the mornings, so recommend bringing earplugs. When one person in our party used the large bathtub, there was no more hot water upstairs for other guests, so plan accordingly. In Dec, the ride paddies are between growing seasons, so it's just a lot of water, not green rice paddies.||||I highly recommend this place as not just accommodations but an experience...
Read moreWe had a total blast at Heron House as this is the best B&B we have ever enjoyed. Every little detail for our stay was organized in advance, every small details for visitors of all ages was thought of (we loved the outdoor movie cinema they set up for us), and the place was immaculately maintained down to the smallest detail. The owners came to greet us personally when we checked in and gave us some space when we wanted to do our own thing. There were yellow rubber duckies for our son in our bathroom along with a baby bath all set up for us, which made life so much easier and fun. The staff took care of every little request we had and gave us total privacy when we just wanted to enjoy this incredible colonial villa on our own. Beyond this the breakfast rocked and when I wanted to try some local dishes not on the menu, the manager Hoa was more than happy to go to her favourite local noodle shop to get it for me personally. You just can’t easily find that level of service and luv much these days at small properties and all around we were made to feel so welcomed and well cared for. We just loved every part of our stay and our only regret was that we did not book more nights at this...
