I arrived at this restaurant at 7:30 in the morning I was the very first guest when they opened. The location is beautiful, right in front of the rice fields, and I was really hoping to enjoy the peace, the quiet, and the sound of the birds. Unfortunately, that was not the experience I received. The staff immediately put on music that was extremely loud, repetitive, and honestly unpleasant to the ears the kind of “elevator music” loop that restarts every 60 seconds. At 7:30 in the morning, it completely ruined the atmosphere. When I politely asked if they could lower the volume, the waiter only pretended to adjust it, but the volume stayed the same. I even told him kindly that if the restaurant prefers to keep the music that loud, that’s fine I would simply leave. Still, there was no real solution offered. On top of that, the table I sat at wasn’t even clean. While I was waiting for it to be cleared, two more local guests arrived after me. The waiter immediately served them drinks, while I who had arrived earlier was completely ignored. When I asked directly if he was ignoring me, he just stared at me and didn’t respond. I tried to repeat myself in the local language so there would be no misunderstanding, but I still received no clear answer and no service. He didn’t even suggest a simple solution like moving me to another table further from the speakers. In the end, I had no choice but to leave and walk around the rice fields to find another place for breakfast. That was disappointing, especially because I came here intentionally and wanted to enjoy it. I usually only write positive reviews I love supporting and recommending places that deserve it. But this is the first time I’ve felt the need to leave a review for improvement. Clean tables, fair service for all guests, and respectful background music would make such a...

The views are a perfect antidote to the mayhem and madness of Hoi Ans roads.
Set close to cycle paths in the middle of paddy fields, gently swaying in the breeze. As you enter you are greeted by helpful staff who will whisk you away to a table of your choice. it’s all outside, so no air con, but there’s plenty of shade and fans to keep you comfortable. Cold draught beer with a side of ice is what worked for me. My wife enjoyed their coconut coffees and cocktails.
Prices are like most places in Hoi An, very very reasonable. Beer was about £1:75 and cocktails around £4:50. Coffee was priced somewhere in between.
We ate there once, having cheese and ham toasties. To be honest, they weren’t great and i’ve read other reviewers saying similar about other dishes. There’s no local cuisine on offer and just their versions of western favourites. This is a mistake in my view, but i’m not in this business so what do i know!
Despite my reservations about the food, we visited 3 times in 5 days during our stay and would highly recommend.
Our hotel, the Grand Sunrise, had the most wonderful and helpful person called Jay who looked after us during our stay and he said we must visit the RCH, so we did…. and are so glad we did.
Go, even if it’s just to have a cold beer and giggle at the instagram generation trying to capture that perfect picture...
