The hotel and services all look nice from a distance, but close up, there are a lot of things that could be improved on.
Firstly, we were part of a group and were all checked in at the same time. We were the only guests on the highest floor, yet no staff helped us carry our bags up. When we made it up, we had issues with the lock at the entrance because it works with a key and a weird handle you need to hold either up or down while turning. We couldn't figure it out and called maintenance. We had to call back again after 15 minutes because no one showed up. Eventually a guy came by and looked at us like we were idiots who couldn't work the door out. Not two minutes later and he had locked himself in our room because the latch wouldn't release anymore. After a lot of fidgeting, it came unlocked again and we managed to operate it mostly decently.
The room itself was very spacious and modern. Sadly, the attention to detail was not there. The curtains contained a disgusting amount of dust that forced me to take zyrtec during my entire stay. There were chips all over the room on wood and tiles. The bathroom smelled incredibly moldy, and it's easy to see why. There were big gaps everywhere in the shower and bath tiles that could easily trap moisture. Also, multiple outlets were hanging crooked or loose (or both). And strangely enough, there were breakers all over the room (in case the power gets overloaded I guess?). Weirdly, there's a small window in the bathroom that doesn't have a curtain or even frosted glass, so people in the opposite building can definitely see you because I could see them...
The breakfast buffet was nice enough with some hot and cold options, an egg station and plenty of fruit. The room itself is too empty though and sound bounces around, so it feels like a school cafeteria when it's packed with groups.
The hotel is located quite a bit away from the old town area but it's easy to rent a bike and drive around or ask the front desk to call you a taxi. The rice paddies are right behind the hotel and visible from some balconies, which...
Read moreGood- Location: 3km away from the center of Hoi An but you can take a bycicle ~ 10-15 mins ride (the hotel has free bycicles for you to use at any hour). Not a friendly walk (too many motorcycles and cars).
Room: Spacious, clean, big bed, big TV with numerous channels (we could watch the winter olympics), good air con and great wifi in the room and throughout the whole hotel.
Breakfast: Wide variation, fruit, muesli and pancakes to rice and eggs. You could eat a lot of food (buffet).
Staff: Extremely nice. 5 star attention. Special mention to Kayla and Sunny, they always wanted for you to have the best experience, great english and really kind. They offered you great tours and shops.
Bad- Location: They have a bus that goes to town every two hours. We had to wait for it several times because our schedules didn’t quite coordinate. If the bus went to town every hour it would’ve been perfect.
Room: The only thing that bothered me was humidity, the room was clean, everything was ok but when you entered the room it had a humid smell (you got used to it, it wasn’t a bad smell) but it kinda bothered me. They didn’t replace the shampoo and...
Read moreRight from the start you knew you had made the right choice in booking this hotel. After traveling for 4 days on a motorbike the last thing you need when arriving at a hotel is miserable staff. Not this place, we was greeted by a very happy doorman, who showed us through to the reception, where we also met by very helpful, happy receptionist. We had to wait 30 minutes for our rooms to be ready, no problem, but while we had to wait we was given free drinks of our choice. It just got better the longer we stayed, the room overlooking the river was large, never mind about swinging a cat in a room you could swing a cow...if you was strong that is...with a balcony, which had 2 chairs. As for the food, there is an old saying, one mans meat is another mans poison. But I will say this, it had everything for everyone. Staying here made me feel at home. Would I recommend this hotel, yes I would without...
