Thanh Dong organic garden restaurant,Basket boat & Cooking class — Restaurant in Hội An

We visited Thanh Dong for the bamboo basket boat experience which we booked through MoMo Travel. This is a little away from where the majority of the bamboo boat tours are run and is a gentle, uncrowded cruise along a short section of the river between the Old Town and Cua Dai. If you are short on time and watching your budget, this is a nice alternative to the other boat tours on offer.

On return to the restaurant, while enjoying a refreshing ca phe sua da (iced white coffee), we took a look at the menu and immediately made the decision to return for dinner.

We shared pork and lemongrass skewers, fish in banana leaf, box chow and garlic in oyster sauce and steamed rice. The food is very fresh, the vegetables come straight from the attached organic farm just metres from your table. At the end of the meal we were offered longan fruit. I had an incredible time on this tour with Kun! It started in the morning at a local market, where she walked us through all the fresh produce, explaining everything in such a fun and engaging way. She even got us some unique fruit we had never seen before so we could try it later—such a thoughtful touch!

Next, we visited a beautiful organic garden run by a local family. The lovely lady there showed us the different plants she was growing, let us smell them, and even explained how she made her own natural fertilizer—super interesting!

Then came the highlight: the cooking class at Thanh Dong. It was fantastic! We had so much fun preparing delicious dishes, and everything tasted amazing.

I had dinner on Saturday rvening at this gem the owner is a very friendly vietnamese young lady she makesall guests feel very elcome , I have to say that all Vietnamese people I have met in the last couple of days are ver friendly I have visited several restaurants and coffee shops and although the staf is very friendly the service is normally not so good it takes a long time to be able to place an order and normally you have to be patiebtbecause all goes very slow in ThanhnDong the Owner is serving the guests herself and her service is very good it is ver fast and always with a lovelcious food is very high and the food is aithenticy smile te quality of the delicious food is very high and the food is delicious all what i had for dinner was fresh and very tastyI will go back to enjoy another dinner here...
