Booked 3 rooms on the ground floor.
Check-in was fine and Louis’ team were accommodating to our later-than-expected check-in time at around 8pm.
After checkin, confronted with a strong smell in Rm 103 ( the one with windows facing the pool), to find a serious case of mould in the corner of the room beside a bed. Toilet roll holder in the bathroom infested with insect eggs.
Contacted Louis, who was prompt to reply and provide assistance. Was immediately offered room 203 upstairs. Moved and found a used toothbrush and toothpaste on the bathroom window ledge, accompanied by a dusty air freshener. Algae was found on toilet roll.
Wall and area behind the bed’s headboard was found to be dirty and dusty, with traces of insect eggs, cigarette box and disposable spoon.
Next morning, drew curtains open to find MORE mould on ledges of window, conveniently covered by the curtains. Morning light provided perfect view of dust accumulated below beds.
We moved out immediately.
For clarification and transparency, we paid a total of SGD$450 for three nights via Airbnb and were offered a refund of VND4,400,000 from Louis, an equivalent of two nights’ stays worth. We did still pay for a night’s stay.
Louis’ prompt service is still commendable, despite the disappointing stay at Hoianation. we hope the level of cleanliness and hygiene can be looked at thoroughly and be given serious attention. Mould is not just a cleanliness issue, but more importantly a matter of hygiene and health-related concern.
We hope the situation will improve to better serve guests at the airbnb in the...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay here at Hoianation villa hotel. This place is a gem and everyone working here including the owner has been amazing. The rooms were clean and the showers were modern with a rain shower head. They have air conditioning, free bikes (first come first serve), beautiful pool, and a nice bathtub as well. We had breakfast included with our package. However, if you don’t, it is only 35,000d (about 1.52usd) for breakfast and a drink. This is my first time traveling to Hoi An. Louis the owner is such a sweet person. He is so nice and speaks English. He was available for me whenever I needed to contact him even when he wasn’t working and we contacted through WhatsApp. He set up my transportation there and back for a fee lower than taxis. When a place was trying to overcharge me to leave my bike with them, I contacted Louis and he told me how much it should have been and to not let them overcharge me. I didn’t have a Vietnam phone number so I was having issues with my pocket WiFi, and he came back to the hotel to help me cause I didn’t know who else to ask. They don’t have a washer/dryer there but they can get your clothes laundered for a low fee per item. He made sure we had our laundry back the following morning after breakfast when I realized I sent all of my socks to get washed. Overall, it was a memorable experience, customer service was amazing. It was very clean and away from the hustle and bustle. I definitely...
Read moreI can not recommend booking the hotel. For this we have a lot of points:
The address is wrong in airbnb. It is not in the center of Hoi An.
We had announced that we would arrive early in the morning after a long overnight bus ride and had asked to check in the room earlier. The hotel was not hardly visited, with us 2 more rooms were occupied. Therefore incomprehensible that you are unable to fix the room earlier, even though we were told that you would take care of it.
A total of € 500 was stolen from us in the room. We tried to find a solution. So far we have not received the money back. And I think we won‘t get it back.
Breakfast was the worst we have had in Vietnam. We can only recommend eating outside. On top they tried to get money for the breakfast twice from us.
Additional the whole street is under construction so it is annoying to...
