Jolie Villa review
TLDR: 5 STARS ⭐️. We love Jolie and team! This is our favorite stay in our trip to Vietnam and probably in our travels ever. Felt at home in Hoi An.
Room was amazingly clean and AC was strong to defend against the heat outside. We listed things we enjoyed from our stay recommended to us by Jolie directly! She sits down with everyone during breakfast and helps them plan out their days in the area. She has great recommendations and usually her recommended people and prices are cheaper than booking yourself online. It is also quite convenient as all the cars pick you up from the Villa itself. Prices super transparent, she also doesn’t push you about buying any of them, and she actually just helps you plan your time. Also FYI they’ve been open for over 10 years and they just had to open new pages on the review sites post pandemic hence a lot of the reviews being newer!
Without a doubt though, the best part is the kind and funny staff that run the hotel. We felt at home with the delicious breakfast and comfortable stay.
Basket boat package ~360K for both of us - We got picked up and drove through scenic paddies and saw animals ! Went on the boat and there are people dancing (looping in circles) on the water and people singing and more entertainments! Our boat auntie was very supportive about us taking pictures and knew all the places to bring you to! Marble mountain package - 990k per person Cooking class 800k per person we especially enjoyed our cooking class (see our cooking class review if you have questions) - a must do! Bill Ben Tailor - she suggested this shop as an affordable option for us! We really liked the ladies there. Got custom dresses, shirts, and pants for reasonable prices and very fast turnaround. We were there Mid-autumn festival Banh mi places ! We liked madam Khanh and Phuong and pho and honestly all of them are yummy! Free bikes to borrow but you should grab them early in the morning Town is close by ~20 min walk but it’s so hot that (at least in September! that we just take grab. You can pop there for food shopping atm sightseeing. She also sent private car for us for pick up and drop off at Da Nang airport at cheaper prices than on grab! Driver is super cool 😎 and holds a sign to pick you up after baggage claim area. All the different drivers we met from the Jolie packages are all really sweet and super convenient for transit. They also serve yummy, convenient...
Read moreMy stay at Jolie Villa was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE! The room was covered in mold and had a strong, sickening smell. It was so bad that I felt unwell. I saw in older comments that others had complained about the same issue 6+ months ago, but nothing was done about it.
When I asked to change rooms, they only offered one the next day. By then, I was too disgusted to stay. Despite all the issues, they charged me for that night, which was ok, but I felt it was a little unfair given the horrible experience they provided. Even with the discount they offered, it just wasn't enough to make up for sleeping in a mold room and getting sick. Additionally, it was inconvenient that they demanded cash payment for the discount, implying an extra charge for credit card transactions.
It's shocking that they would expect guests to endure such UNHEALTHY conditions, especially for extended stays (I had 18 nights booked with them). After getting almost ZERO sleep and waking up with a horrible headache, one of the receptionists had the audacity to also make me notice that I looked tired because of the dark circles under my eyes! It wasn't a nice thing to say and made me feel even more uncomfortable.
The rooms didn't look like the pictures online. They were old and worn out (also the new one that they gave me, which was their best, as they said).
I'll attach some photos of the mold (and it's much worse than it looks in the pics!), unfortunately, I can't share the sickening smell.
Overall, I don't recommend staying at Jolie Villa. There are better places to stay for...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Jolie Villa and had a delightful experience overall. The room we booked exceeded our expectations especially considering the reasonable price of 307,000 vnd. Situated 2 km away from Old Town activities, the location provided a serene environment away from the hustle and bustle, yet still within reach of attractions. The hotel offers free bicycle rentals, which was a convenient way to explore the area, besides scooters which would cost you 150,000 vnd a day. The atmosphere around the hotel was tranquil, with quiet and safe surroundings, allowing for a peaceful stay. Our room was impressively soundproofed, ensuring a restful night's sleep. While the bathrooms and beds were clean and comfortable, we did notice some minor issues such as mold on the walls and stains on the shower curtain, which could be improved upon. The staff at Jolie Villa were the highlight of our stay. Most of them were exceptionally friendly, and their English was decent enough to communicate with foreigners. Besides, their accomodating and attentive service truly enhanced our experience. Additionally, the room was adequately furnished, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but it'd be even better if Jolie Villa could provide microwave. Overall, our time at Jolie Villa was enjoyable. We would gladly return for another stay in the future and would definitely recommend this place to my...
