We did a 2 night stay at Happy Hotel as part of our 3 week trip around the country. Happy Hotel is situated right in the city, you can easily walk around Saigon and visit Ben Tho Market, the night market, and the river. The front desk provides you a handy map, which really helps when you want to walk around the area. When we asked for suggestions for places to eat they pointed us to a really great banh mi (sandwich) shop and the coffee shop (the one that serves egg coffee - yum!) is not a far walk either. Breakfast is included for each night's stay, with A/C, free wi-fi and HBO/Cinemax cable tv with (ENGLISH channels!). Probably not as geared towards families with kids as the bathroom and bedroom is separated by a clear glass wall. There is a blind that you can roll down, but it's a little funky. ||||Overall - it was a nice little hotel - definitely not 4 or 5 star, but a great 3 star hotel nonetheless, and worked perfectly for...

The 'sanitised for your convenience' covers over the glasses in the bathroom meant nothing - the glasses were filthy; I took then to reception who didn't looked surprised. Cigarette burns everywhere. ||Reception staff were very pleasant and clearly embarrassed by the poor housekeeping. ||It is NOT within walking distance of Ben Thanh market, and the hitel unfortunately didn't have any maps, and couldn't buy any either.||This hotel is available to rent rooms by the hour which suggests it's a 'love...
Read moreI visited about a year ago and was just looking for a place to stay for a night that was fairly close by after landing from the airport and a decent price. Didn't have a reservation but it was fine. A real no frills spot, AC worked, and the room was fairly big all things considered. Nothing amazing but nothing terrible either. I recall the windows being fogged up so I didn't get a full view but I was just there to sleep anyways. I remember the price was fine.
The place got the job done for the night, and the staff was nice enough to hold on to my luggage while I went for breakfast after already checking out. If you just need a place to sleep then this is pretty good. Would consider going back if I'm ever in a...
