A beautiful quaint apartment in Ho Chi Minh that's conveniently located near lots of shops and food if you Grab to the location - walking wise you would need to walk out a little bit to the nearest convenience store /cafe. There is no breakfast provided, but you can grabfood from nearby places or walk out to the nearby cafes which I would recommend you doing. Just be careful of traffic as it is a two way street when crossing roads.
We got the Duplex studio with Balcony and Cafe view through Booking.com, which included a cooking stove, microwave, fridge and kitchen sink. The balcony view overlooks a church, and the other apartment guests are considerate and quiet.
They have bidets in their toilets, and the bed is located on the second level. We booked a stay of 5 days, 4 nights for $196 sgd, which is a really good price, given that hotels in Singapore start from $80 a night for the 3 star ones. Everything is super clean, the sinks, toilets, floors, carpets, but you can see that this apartment has been around for awhile, with the old taps and pipes, but they also have been meticulously cleaned.
Ventilation seems to be a problem however, though we switched on the fan in the bathroom the smell after us taking a number 2 lingers a little in our room (901), maybe the staff would need to check if the ventilation is working properly for that room. However, it wasn't a big problem for us.
Aircon is well maintained and cold, and we can request for daily cleaning of our rooms with new sheets and towels and amenities.
The staff service is very polite, and they always go the extra mile to help the guests, they help with luggage without being asked to, and go above and beyond in helping their guests.
I ran out of toilet paper one night and went down to the 24 hr reception to request for it, however they told me that housekeeping was closed, and offered up a half used roll of toilet paper from behind the reception counter. When I asked if he needed it for his own use, he assured me that the toilet paper was only used to wipe spills or stains on the reception counter, and that I could use it.
Another helpful occasion was that after I left the apartment, I realised I had left one of my belongings in the fridge. I then messaged the hotel with Booking.com and got a reply within ten minutes, that they would check with the room service staff.
They then told me that the staff had no idea what item it was and discarded it, but then followed up with me and said that it was found clean and intact, that it was not thrown away and that I could collect it. I then asked to leave it with my friend who stayed in KunKin.
Really appreciate the prompt service from the staff, who are friendly, welcoming and ready to help anytime.
I feel bittersweet for leaving, but I will be back! KunKin is a great place if you are looking to stay for long periods of time, they do have residents who live there and you can try...
Read moreThe hotels was really hard for help me to chang days of booking. Since I’m just 2 months pregnant when I was a rush I booked wrong day from 19-21/2 but I booked 19-21/3. After noted the wrong booking I tried to contact hotel from reception number and on apps. And they really made things hard for me to change date. From the started they said they can help me to change because the hotel still have a lot available rooms but they rejected my changed replacement dates on app. I had to call them like 4-5 times a day for 3 days for fasting up the change. I also explained to them why did I book wrong. And they still reject again after conforming again that I had to pay some fee. I also agreed with that, because anyway still my fault. After all trip.com staffs from Singapore had to call me to help me to set up the changing since I tried to press urgent on the apps. If I didn’t do it. I think this hotel just wanted me to have to book again for new room and don’t want to change date for me. You guys know I’m pregnant so I was really upset about what they tried to do. On another hand, I’m a Vietnamese who are working and living around Asia since 2013 and i talked to the hotel reception and the manager in Vietnamese not English so don’t have any reasons for them to misunderstanding me. And if my English is not good I can’t get help from trip.com staffs it will be hard for me. And one more thing made me angry with the hotel when I arrived for late check in around 8pm after long day when to do paperwork at immigration for my marriage and went check up for the baby; they brought me and my husband to a room without window and ask me to pay extra for exchange to room with window, but I already booked the loft room 30 spm with windows - the biggest room they had. And when I showed them my booking the reception told me that the seller team told her to give me the room without window. After my confrontation and anger evident in my face, she brought me to my room and said sorry to me tomorrow about the mistake they made.Because I already stayed there so I had to book another room for my friend also in 2 days with us.Until now when I have more times I decided I should write down my experiences so next customers will learn from my...
Read moreI lived in this apartment for three years. When I moved out, I was charged 72$ for curtain repair. I looked up it on the internet and the regular price was 20$. When I pointed this out to them, they did not reduce the amount and unilaterally transferred the deposit for the remainder minus that amount. Please be careful with this apartment, as there is a high possibility that the deposit will not be returned in full. I hope there are no more victims like me.

Dear kunkin apartment Thank you for contacting us. First of all, thank you very much for your refund of the deposit during the contract period, but this was due to the lack of explanation from the apartment regarding the explosion on the second floor, which we judged to have been caused by the apartment. We have negotiated with you and you have agreed to move out during the term of the contract. We understand that this has nothing to do with the high cost of repairing the lace curtains. Second, regarding the cost of repairing the lace curtains, we understand that one of them needs to be repaired and we have been informed that the repair will require the replacement of both of them. I looked up both lace curtains online and found that they cost approximately $20. Yukiko had informed you that the repair cost was too high, but you were told that the cost of the curtains included the cost of labor and transportation. You also told us that the 72$ is after a 30% discount and that it would actually cost 103$. I am sure the readers of this will know if 103$ is reasonable to replace the lace curtains, but I apologize if I am wrong. Also, you should have taken our consent to give us a deposit less expensive repairs and did not inform us that you were going to give us a refund prior to giving us the money back. If the repair cost was incorrect and you would consider refunding the remaining amount, please contact Yukiko or myself. If you believe that the cost of repairing the curtains is reasonable, then you may leave it as is. I am sure someone reading this will judge the reasonableness. Thank you for...
