The hostel has probably the most social guests I’ve ever met. For example, the family of cockroaches that infested my room and the cockroach that somehow crawled onto the top bunk where I was sleeping, were all extremely friendly. If the idea of sleeping with cockroaches doesn’t appeal, don’t worry!! Just go to reception, explain the situation and wait twenty minutes for them to do nothing, not even change the sheets. Talking about changing sheets, two of the beds in my room had suspicious looking dry off-white stains which either come from humans or cockroaches, you decide which is worse! If you enjoy sleeping in a microwave, you’d love room 105, the ac doesn’t produce any cold air BUT it will drop ice cubes every hour or so! So why not try open the window?? Well if you can stomach touching the mysteriously BROWN stained curtains, you will be greeted by the spectacular view of a wall, making the curtains completely redundant. The toilets weren’t much better, there’s three bathrooms in total for maybe 50 guests, and only one of them will have toilet paper at a time, the other will probably just be clogged with poo. One thing all three bathrooms do share, however, is a blistering heat; making going to the toilet feel like the fire scapes of hell and going for a shower feel insignificant as you start sweating the minute the water’s off. The only good thing about the hostel is the balcony on the top floor, though it has no fan so you can’t stay there longer than twenty minutes without wanting to jump to your death. Don’t go here, I wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy. Unless of course my worse enemy is a cockroach with an erectile dysfunction, because then he would feel...
Read moreIt was a terrible experience, I've asked for a bottom bunk, the staff responded said they would honour my request.
I would have given a zero star if I could. As they really didn't care about how you feel. upon arrival they could not find my booking and asked me to wait after the supposed check in time as my room is far from ready. Which was fine, I confirmed if a request has being received for a bottom bunk. The lady said no problem. Upon check in the only available bunk was a top bunk I've told the lady of my request she refused to honour it. And she said I need to move my bunk two days from check in so she can cater to a bigger group.
So I came back specifically to change my bunk This time I spoke to the owner, she told me I didn't have to move it's fine. But she still can't give me a bottom bunk Even though during my stay she could of moved when beds were available But just flat out refused it. Because they really don't care about what you have to say. Even though I raised my concerns. It was obviously not an issue for the team or the owner. And still refused to give me a bottom bunk as requested, even though I told her about the appalling experience I had. I've asked for a preferably quiet room, it wasn't cater for This is by far my worst experience at any accommodation that I stayed at in my life
The AC barely worked. The staff members were confused and kept asking me several times during my stay when did you book ?
By far the worst...
Read morePS: This is a super long review but worth reading This was my first ever hostel experience and I am very happy that I chose Long hostel for it. Firstly the rooms are very clean and it entirely has a very homely ambience. The owner lady is very welcoming, ever smiling and warm. The beds are soft and they do maintain cleanliness. The hostel also provides you with toothbrush, towels and body wash so incase you forget any of these you need not worry. You are provided with delicious breakfast and drinks in the morning such as banana pancakes, omlette bread, scrambled eggs etc. (You can choose any one of these/ drinks- tea, coffee, passion fruit squash etc) but banana pancake is a must try over there. There are various books to read, a piano for entertainment and so mostly there are some jammin sessions that happens over the evening. And I couldn't forget to mention that they give you 2 beers and 2 bananas (each person) everyday between 7-9 pm as they have their happy hours then. There is a kitchen on the ground floor where you can cook your stuff if any. The owner lady is very helpful and can provide you with useful travel suggestions. They also have a facility of arranging a cab anytime from airport to the hostel and vice-versa. They also allow an early ir late check in case depending on ur flight timings but preferably inform them in advance,...
