The restaurant offers good Indian cuisine. However, we had an unpleasant experience when we received our order.
There was the waiter and what appeared to be the manager with him. We asked for a chana masala, a dhal, 2 bottles of water and 2 loaves of nan bread without butter. We had specified the latter several times. In addition, we had the menu with the open vegetarian section and we pointed out each item ordered to him, mentioning it out loud.
We received the dhal and a chicken masala😩. Also, the nan bread had no butter, but with some kind of green spices on top. We've eaten in many Indian restaurants around the world and sometimes they add spices.
For the chicken, they took it back and came back with a chana masala.
When it came time to pay the bill, the naan bread was 25k extra, so, 50k extra. It said chili naan, not plain naan.☹️
We mentioned this to the manager and he told us that we had ordered the chili naan and that's what we had received. We had not mentioned that they had made a mistake.😡
In the end, we paid and will not return to this restaurant. We would have ordered or returned as it wasn't far and we're in Vietnam for 3 months.
So, I wouldn't advise against going there, but write your order in your phone and have them read it. You can be sure that things will go better. The food is good, the dhal was in my opinion better than the chana which was more tomatoey.
As for the water, you don't have to as they bring glasses of water, so it's not necessary.
It's a decent experience, but clearly...
Read moreHad a very awkward experience with the owner/waiter giving an extremely political reaction to small talk .
To make conversation we asked the server/owner when this place opened, who owned jt , how long they resided in Vietnam ,etc
My husband just in passing asked if owners were Indian or Pakistani as it’s common practice of subcontinent owners to just use the label ‘Indian restaurant’ but the food cooking styles are different .
Don’t know what offended the “Indian” owner so much that he went on a FullOn 10minute random RANT preaching about how Pakistanis are skilled medicine assistants here , are kinder and smarter than Indians, are best friends with the Indian owner, etc etc . Then went on to say that we had never been to Pakistan but would like to visit but isn’t getting a visa . Such long monologue/ lecture given to us trying to prove a point ( about what but ?)
The loud and radical response was very uncomfortable for us clients who are casually inquiring and making conversation.
Chill guys ! We would have eaten here regardless of wherever the owners were from as long as we get south Asian veggie options .
Not everything has to be political !
P.s. Food was very good ! We had sher e Punjab...
Read moreHello Guys,
I wish to share this amazing experience of this restaurant. My flight to Ho Chi Minh was late and as you all know after 9pm all outlets are shut after 9pm and No restaurants in Vietnam takes order post9pm that's my experience in Hanoi,Phuquoc. I imagined the same.
I was at Sametime squeezed on Exchange to Vietnamese Dong i just had dollars ,i called this outlet and owner Harmeet politely said will help you not an issue. We were running short of time but he ensured to suggest signature dishes.
To our surprise amazed to experience finer Licking food and it was delivery to my Hotel,he ensured he himself came for delivery along with Staff and delivery was on time and ensured food is hot, fresh and delicious. Im into Hospitality this makes a difference-Hospitality in India can't be compared to any other country the way follows/consider "Ataithi devo Bhava" This restaurant and Harmeet and team did the same..
Sametime he ensured he gave disposable plates, spoons without telling him, packing was amazing.
Strongly recommend this restaurant to whole world , people in Ho Chin Minh do not look out for other restaurants their Service from Heart is just amazing.
Thank you Team Chandi ...
