Booked 4 nights
Excellent location
Then the long story short. When i arrived the hostel was fully booked so i had to stay the first night in private room and pay a lot of extra because of that. At least i got a little discount for that. Single room i stayed is in 4th floor. It was ok room with good bed. But not very fancy. It also scented of mold. So i think it's over priced according the quality of the room.
Next 3 nights i stayed in the 7 peoples dorm the other hostel building. Beds where nice. A lot of people come and go every night. So it got noicy and they even left the lights on during the night when people tried to sleep. But it's not the hostel's fault that people don't think nothing but themselves.
Breakfast was ok. They ask to fill the form of what you want to have but its for nothing cause you're going to get the same bread and fried egg every morning anyways. Coffee is good. Staff is pretty nice but not super helpful or fare for the reason i've booked 4 nights but didn't even see the room i had booked and even had to paid extra for it. So i am fairly disappointed to this place. But nice area compensated the...
Read moreWe (family of 5 with 3 kids) arrived at Hang’s hostel to check into a hostel that had closed 7 years ago (got scammed on a booking site). Because it was the national holidays and big 50th anniversary celebrations in HCMC, there was literally nothing available all over the city for a group our size. Hang was sooooo kind and hospitable, calling fellow hotel owners and even offering to let us sleep in her lobby. After a couple hours of complete stress and a late cancellation, Hang miraculously got us into a 6-bed dorm room for the night. The room was very affordable, simple but clean and very quiet, despite her hostel being in such a vibrant area close to all the action. She wasn’t able to accommodate us the next night but she followed up with us after we left to make sure we were OK. Hang’s kindness will never be forgotten and I can’t recommend this caring human and her...
Read moreI know you guys are working hard and quite well trained . But the cleaning staff shouted "Hello" loudly when entering the room after check-in, and kept staring while smiling. Isn't it too friendly out of curiosity ? When I run into him again on the first floor after checking out, he laughed playfully and seemed to be talking about me in Vietnamese to the reception staff. It was not a good attitude or impression at all, whether it's good or not in context . He kept giggling and waved his hand widely saying "Bye Bye." Except for the cleaning staff, other employees were well trained and showed cautious and careful attitudes, which is ironic. Basically, there are too many people in the culture who look at foreigners, giggle, and whisper something . Haha. The owner seems nice , and the other staff are certainly well trained. Kids are cute . Hot water...
