This is such a great hostel! We booked based on the good reviews and ended up extending our stay to 10 days. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm, all the beds have curtains for privacy and their own plug socket, hook, and mirror. The large lockers under the beds fit backpacks. Staff changed our towels every day and changed our bedding during our stay whenever we requested it. The hostel is in a central location, walkable or a short ride away from tourist attractions. The rooms at the front of the building do get noise from the street but all guests in our rooms were pretty respectful and quiet and staff helped with any issues we had. You can also book tours through the hostel which is useful if you have just arrived in the city, we did the Cu Chi Tunnels one which was good.
You get an amazing free breakfast every day, with fresh fruit and delicious coffee and always veggie options, and also a free beer at the rooftop bar every evening! This is such a nice perk and also helps with the social aspect of the hostel as everyone always sits together in the morning for breakfast and evening for drinks and chat together. The value for money is truly amazing here.
The real highlight of this hostel are the staff. All of them are so friendly, chatty, and welcoming and super, super helpful with everything. Lin at the bar is so friendly and happy to see everyone every evening. We did an amazing free walking tour of the city with Sam who is super knowledgeable and friendly, he's amazing as remembering everyone's names and seems genuinely interested to chat with everyone. He was also really helpful with anything we needed during our stay and always asked how we were doing whenever he saw us. Alex was super helpful at helping us extend our stay. Harry and Michael who are on at breakfast are good at dealing with everyone's orders, even when it's super busy. Tee and Lucie who are on in the evening are really attentive and always ready to help with anything you need, Lucie especially was great at giving reccomendations for bars, hairdressers, nail salons, and anything else you asked her for! Thank you all for an amazing stay! I hope you all get the recognition you deserve because you're all wonderful and made our stay really memorable. Thank you also to the cleaning staff and girls who made breakfast every morning! ❤️
If we're ever back in HCMC we'll definitely be staying here and would totally recommend it to...
Read moreI had a very unpleasant experience at this hostel. I cannot work out how it is so highly rated as it is easily one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed at.
To start with the positives, the staff are wonderful and friendly, and they were very accommodating throughout my stay. It is also in a prime location to access the city's main attractions.
Unfortunately, however, the good things end there. Upon check in I was struck by how small and cramped the whole hostel is. My room was tiny with 8 beds crammed into it. There are lockers under the beds, but they are pretty small and so people cannot fit their big backpacks in them. As such, the very limited floor space was taken up with piles of people's belongings. This meant that I could not access my locker at all, and that I had to physically climb over mountains of bags to get to the ladder to reach my bunk.
As the rooms are so full of stuff, it is impossible to clean them properly, meaning the floors are filthy and there are bugs like cockroaches running around. The rooms also smell very unpleasant, something they try and mask with disgusting air freshener. The smell was so bad that I actually felt ill.
I am unsure if my bed had bed bugs, but I woke up this morning with several small bug bites which were not there yesterday.
The rooftop bar is nice and social, but very small so there is limited space to sit and socialise.
I ended up checking out early after only one night, something which I've never had to do before in 6 months of travel. I explained my reasons for leaving early to the staff, and they were wonderful and understanding. They refunded me without question.
Overall, I didn't enjoy my time here at all and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this hostel. I ended up moving to Saigon Chill Hostel instead and had a much nicer experience.
UPDATE: I realised that in order to refund me for the nights I didn't stay here, the staff said they had to cancel my booking on Hostelworld. This means that I cannot review the property, and might explain why they have such high reviews. Anyone who checks out early like I did is unable to leave a negative review. A friend of mine also told me that she was offered free laundry service if she gave...

I don’t often regret my decisions, but staying here made me question my purpose of traveling and life.
The place is EXTREMELY, overcrowded with people and luggages. Have you seen those videos of India trains with people just holding to their life. This place is like that.
They wash their towels and sheets but they’ve been used so much that they look like from ww2. Like after you take a shower and use their towels, u wanna take a shower again.
The place is PACKED with EXTREMELY CHEAP smelly backpacker who’ve been travelling for like 3m and they are otta money now.
The hallway is sooooo humid that’s like ur in a suna, the bathrooms are occupied ALL the time, you have to wait outside one and get in right after do their business.
Inside the bathroom are so hot and humid that’s like ur if you just wanna pop, you start to sweat sooo much that u need to take a shower too.
The air conditioner are working all the time inside t rooms BUT its like they r not working, not enough. There are like 8 people in each tiny rooms and they ALL have these massive backpacks with lots of stuff and they just leave their stuff wherever.
The hallway, stairs, bedd and rooms are all made for tiny Vietnamese sizes not average European.
The staff are nice people, it’s not about them, but this is about they’ve starched the recourses and capacity of the place to a radical point.
I can tell you this place is like a gas station for backpackers, after a long trip, they just come there, wash their clothes, take a shower, and just hit the road,
High quantity travellers ZERO quality
I understand, this is probably one of the cheapest places you can find, and i understand there a lot of people from some countries that count every penny, but if you are from a richer country, if you can afford an extra 1/2/3 $ DO IT. Don’t torture yourself with staying here. You are traveling in budget but also you want to enjoy the time you are there not to suffer.
THANK GOD, i didn’t have to stay there for a long time, this was a...
