Great Views
We initially booked five nights in a beach front spacious panoramic suite overlooking the ocean and then extended a further five nights.
Location is great for shops and massages, grab ride service is cheap to go to Dam Market and the beach is right across the road. The board walk along the beach safe and easy for daily walks.
We booked a large panoramic one-bedroom suite and thoroughly enjoyed the panoramic view, the spacious main area and having a second bathroom were a huge bonus!
The club floor lounge is one of the top assets of the property with an array of edibles and sweets along with made to order breakfasts and dinner dishes.
Sparkling wine and array of cocktails enhances the food selection and dining experience!
The lounge is staffed by solution oriented helpful staffs. Notably Jolie and Cao who’s dedicated efforts and helpfulness were appreciated!
Special mention to Mike who’s hospitable, accommodating daily interactions contributed to our lounge and stay enjoyment!
Mike always went over and above with assistance such as locating Vietnamese ground coffee to take home, directions to Dam market and sourcing a daily treat of ice cream in the lounge. Mike is a rising star and a valuable asset to the hotel with his friendly demeanor and leadership!
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Celia in the lounge who was often rude and condescending to not only ourselves but her fellow colleagues.
There were numerous instances of this behaviour, however we recall one particular day the coffee machine was out of water, when we notified her of this, she immediately informed us by pointing at the water jug on the table that “we could have filled it up ourselves”!
We were made to feel we had inconvenienced her which was contrary to the disingenuous dialogue imparted regularly, “If you need anything, I am here to help”!
On another occasion after we had extended our stay through Mike who had spoken with the controller and confirmed the price for staying in the same room, Celia went in and changed the price to almost double and then proudly informed us that she had confirmed our extended stay herself and we could stay in the same room.
Fortunately, we just happened to check our reservation and caught the price error before check out!
Of special mention was our housekeeper Quyen Nguyen, who’s friendly, smiling personable daily greetings were a pleasant and notable experience!
Quyen is by far one of the most thorough and competent housekeepers we have experienced in some 75 countries of travel. Our room was always well stocked with amenities, cleaned to perfection and our clothes folded.
Without a doubt Quyen takes pride in what she does and she does her job at an exceptionally high level a rarity in the hospitality industry!
The gym is large, modern and well equipped and along with the pool we used both regularly over our ten days stay!
The hotel lived up to its reputation and rating and it was a pleasure to stay and interact with all the fine staffs who also made our...
Read moreTLDR; We stayed for 4 nights in the Sky 2-bedroom apartment. Hotel was reasonably good/good value (and some great service at the Sheraton Club) but also had some shortcomings.
More details :
Great - Service was fantastic in the Sheraton Club by majority of the staff - many going above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Our sky 2-bedroom apartment was great/luxurious - fantastic view of the beach and surrounding city. Loved the 5-7pm drinks/food offering there, but the afternoon tea was no longer offered which was a bit disapponting.
Good - Seafood buffet was really good, delicious food.
Not so great (a few things here below standard & want to call them out so staff can improve these for others) :
Swimming: the pool was absolutely freezing, to the point where we just didn't swim at all (and something we'd hoped to do a lot of). It's located up on the 6th floor so there was very strong winds most of the time too. They really need to heat this pool and enclose it a bit more. There was a nice spa (which could have sufficed), but because it's segregated (men + womens section) it wasn't possible to use it with my wife or 9yo child. The beach was warm, but very rough and unsuitable for our 9yo - also crossing the very busy road to the beach was a bit daunting - no crossing or anyone assisting.
Breakfast Buffet : Despite a large selection of food, but it wasn't very good quality at all (ie. stale pasteries, other offerings didn't seem to be made with good ingrededients). The coffee wasn't just terrible (seemed to be a really cheap coffee machine) but buffet staff repeatedly forgot our orders or messed them up.
Kids Club : very large kids club which could have been good, except that there was hardly any kids there (we were there for Reunification/Kings weekend so shouldn't have been the case). The staff made little to no effort to entertain our child so she grew bored of it very quickly and just didn't want to go. She actually commented that the staff just completely ignored her, but each time we went to pick her up they'd suddenly start paying attention to her so we'd think they were making an effort. This was a shame as it limited our ability to go out and do adult site-seeing while she was there.
Lifts : being in the Sky Apartment on 30th floor was a bit of a challenge to get to. We needed to take a lift to the 28th floor and then another to the 30th floor. The big issue was that only 2 of the 4 lifts went to 28th floor and there was only a single button to call any lift - hence we'd have to repeatedly press button, wait for a lift and then if it wasn't one of those 2 lifts we'd have to do it all again. Sometimes it took 5 minutes or more just to get the correct lift to come to us. Seems like this whole thing was an afterthought for the design of the hotel (not sure if they purchased existing building from previous hotel?) - they really need to have seperate lift buttons on the public levels so you can request the lift you...
Read moreIn my search for a suitable hotel for a long-term stay in Vietnam, I contacted all the hotels within the Marriott Group. Only two hotels responded, with others slow to reply even after follow-ups. My most active communication was with Trang, the reservations manager at the Sheraton in Nha Trang. It was enjoyable emailing with her because we quickly discussed all my wishes, and she did an excellent job presenting her hotel. Consequently, I booked a two-month stay.
Suite 1728: A Paradise for Long Stays
I stayed in Suite 1728, which features floor-to-ceiling windows and a direct sea view. The suite includes a large desk, a comfortable chair, two 75-inch Smart TVs, a walk-in closet, and an incredibly comfortable bed, making it ideal for extended stays. Sunny and an IT employee ensured perfect internet speeds.
Exclusive Lounge on the 25th Floor
Another highlight is the lounge on the 25th floor, with its huge windows facing the sea and a terrace. Kathy, Nhi, Chau, and the other staff provide excellent proactive service. You can have breakfast in the lounge, enjoy cake in the afternoon, and a selection of hot and cold dishes in the evening. Drinks are available around the clock.
Feast Restaurant: A Breakfast Delight
I usually had breakfast in the Feast Restaurant due to its larger selection. Special thanks to Anna, Ricky, Sophia, Hazel, and the other friendly service staff. Many thanks also to Mr. Huy!
Well-Equipped Gym
The gym is well-equipped with new treadmills and offers a great sea and beach view. There are a few more weight machines that other hotels don't have, such as a leg press.
Relaxation by the Pool and Beach
Relaxing by the pool on the comfortable loungers is pleasant, though I prefer the hotel's loungers on the beach, set up every day from 9:00 am. The active food and beverage service at the beach is another plus.
Special Thanks to the Team
A big thank you to Michelle, who ensured I could leave my bike with the security service in the underground garage—very convenient. Maia handled all other personal special requests. Thank you very much. It’s a great hotel with a highly motivated team. That's why I'm returning at the end of July for another two months. I hope Ilya (F&B Manager) will be back then, as he provided me with much information about the hotel and Nha Trang upon my arrival—best regards also to Jason and Jack, the concierge team. Overall, my stay at the Sheraton Nha Trang was unforgettable, and I am already looking forward to...
