Good ||The hotel is walking distance from the beach - about 10 minutes to the Eden hotel or £1 by taxi to Long Beach centre.||The rooms are clean and spacious with a very comfortable double bed, clean bedding and towels. There's a fully operational mini fridge ( you'd be amazed how many are only tepid rather than cold) and plenty of sockets. There's a wall mounted flat screen TV with several English speaking channels and free wifi. The ensuite shower room has lashings of hot water, a good powerful shower and a good array of toiletries, tooth brushes etc.||The girl on reception ( regularly wore a pink dress but we didn't get her name) was lovely and helpful - she didn't speak much English and we don't speak Vietnamese but we managed. We hired bicycles which were in really good condition and as the island is fairly flat we managed to cover a good distance. The hotel also did our laundry.||Not so Good||The wifi is intermittent, TV channels come and go and the towels aren't changed regularly - we had to ask for them every couple of days. PHu Quoc is very dusty and the towels soon get grubby no matter how careful you are.||The room had a leak which came through the bathroom ceiling late one night and it seeped through the bedroom wall making a large stain and meaning the room was dampish. We tried to contact reception but it was deserted and we pointed it out the next morning to be told it was due to the rain. We weren't convinced as there was a room above us as we were on the first floor and we were offered another room but decided to stay put.||The pool is a good size but doesn't really get much sun, there is a tiny area with a couple of sun beds but these aren't in the sun. The water doesn't seem to be pumped regularly and after one deluge (it rained a lot mostly overnight) the pool was dark green. Consequently we spent every day at the beach.||The bad||There is a cafe but it only does breakfast, it was usually omelettes or pho which were lovely however there was a man who persisted in walking in and out of the kitchen whilst smoking heavily. I did ask him not to but we had breakfast out thereafter. I know hygiene levels varied but I draw the line at smoking when food is being cooked.||The hotel really needs a good bit of organisation to run effectively. It has a lot of potential but given the amount of new development underway, it needs to improve quickly to be...
Read moreFirst off the pool is green which means you can't swim in it unless you plan on getting sick. I booked this place mainly for the pool and for it to be filthy has ruined our stay here. Our toilet is also leaking and we informed the receptionist about it and she said she will have somebody fix it. We came back to the room 4 hours later and noticed that it had not been fixed. We asked the receptionist what the problem was and she laughed saying she had forgot to tell someone about it. Told us someone can fix it tomorrow which was unprofessional. Please don't stay here, there are much better places to stay in this area for the same price...
