This must have been the most welcoming, attentive, relaxing place we could have possible come across in Phu Quoc. Which is why we extended from 7 days to 14 (and if we didn‘t already have plans and tickets to continue our travels, we probably would have stayed even longer - simply because we loved it so much).
Staff: The service goes above and beyond - they will try everything to make sure you‘re comfortable, well taken care of and just overall happy. Their whole aura puts a smile on your face, every morning at breakfast, and really just any time you cross paths. So will the resort’s dogs Den and Bubu (we had a blast with them!!). You can call or text the reception via whatsapp no matter what. They are hyper reliable on anything you request. It‘s really great. They help you with laundry, renting scooters, booking tours, getting you to the main road and back, or even helping you making your ramen if you‘re craving a late night snack from the store.
Rooms: we had the chance to live in a bungalow pool view as well as a double standard. Both rooms were clean (and cleaned each morning), spacious, and far enough away to not hear the other guests (unless they were screaming for whatever reason lol). The rooms have a fridge for you to store drinks, food, or aloe gel (you’ll need it). Some rooms have outside kitchens with cooking utensils as well. With the daily room cleaning you also get two water bottles. There‘s a kettle and some tea and coffee utensils in the rooms available as well. You get towels for the shower and for the pool that will be changed on request (e.g., putting them in the basket by the bathroom). Talking about the bathroom: WOW, so nice. It‘s an outside bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower. Water pressure is absolutely fine, both with the rain shower head and the smaller one.
As for the wildlife: beware you are in the jungle! While there were no monkeys (or at least we didn‘t see any), you get to share the resort with some geckos, frogs, mosquitoes, and sometimes even spiders or snakes. No worries - they usually don‘t want to cuddle and will stay away. And if they happen to get lost around your room, the staff will happily assist with relocating these little friends. (Pro tip: just give them names and greet them daily. It makes you feel more comfortable and everyone gets a kick out of it ;-) we enjoyed having the geckos and frogs around). The entire area of the resort is well taken care of. The area around the pool is clean and cleaned each day. All furniture is in great shape. The pool itself as well.
Food:For breakfast they serve a variety of fruit each day - Mango, pineapple, pomelo, dragonfruit, passionfruit, guava, watermelon and bananas. You‘ll find banana pancakes made with coconut milk, some sort of local dish (changes each day), chicken or beef pho, eggs (served as ordered - scrambled, sunny side up, omelette), and some bread. Also: coffee, tea, water, and fresh fruit juice. Absolutely enough for us, but you‘re free to bring additional stuff if you like.
Location: Our stay was during high season which you will not notice around the resort. This will be your safe space to wind down and fully relax. On the very end of a road leading you into the island‘s jungle, this getaway resort is perfectly situated. Close enough to town, well connected through the resort‘s shuttle and the local public transport (both free of cost), you‘re able to fully enjoy the quiet and nature away from the masses while still taking only a few minutes to the beach, many restaurants and bars or the bigger town about 15 minutes away. The nearby beach is way less populated than other stretches. It‘s clean, has some beach bars and lounge chairs. We came back many times as we simply enjoyed it there the most compared to other parts of the island.
In summary: This was hands down the greatest part of our trip through SEA so far. We would absolutely love to come back one day as formed wonderful connections with everyone there and wish all of them only the best. Thank you for giving us the best possible...
Read moreWe (friends) stayed here for 4 nights. I am rating this resort a 5-star largely because of its cost-effectiveness and service level (very responsive). This is a Robinson Crusoe back-to-nature kind of stay : quiet rustic stay at the edge of the jungle.
LOCATION It’s located right smack in the middle of Phu Quoc and a short 15mins drive from the airport. Airport pick-up by the resort is complimentary. Alternatively, you can take the free bus 17 to the main road and buggy-in.
Despite being nestled in the jungle, it takes a 5mins buggy ride (complimentary by the resort) to get to the main road/beach. The road getting to the resort is narrow but is sealed. From the main road, there are ✔️ Lots of local coffee shops and eateries. ✔️Walking distance to the popular King Kong mart supermarket. The nearest supermarket is the relatively new Long Beach mart. ✔️Long Beach is the nearest beach the buggy dropped us. It’s an average beach with an abandoned resort (used to be Thousand Stars Resort) that has seen her better days.
This resort is definitely not for those who wants a vibrant night life.
RESORT BUILDING The simple main reception is open from 7am to 10pm. It doubles up as breakfast area. There are well-spaced 22 rooms in the entire compound.
BEDROOM We got a family villa at 201 and 202. It is just next to the reception. Very convenient. The decor was rustic timeless but decently maintained. ✔️Flooring: Rustic red tiles ✔️View: nature and pool. ✔️Bed: Rather hard but not as hard as those in China ✔️Sheets: Adequate. ✔️Pillows: Adequate. ✔️Television : None. ✔️Lighting: 1 lovely wicker lamp desk by the bedside, doubling as night light. Lighting in the room is florescent white. ✔️Phone: Not necessary bec all guests can WhatsApp the front desk directly. The resort is highly responsive. ✔️Aircon: Working well, not noisy. Remote control doesn’t work so well. ✔️Plugs: Vietnamese plug with extension cord. Please bring your own international plug. ✔️Safe Deposit box: Yes. Need time to figure how to use. We didn’t bother. ✔️Fridge: Unstocked mini fridge. ✔️Wardrobe: open wardrobe. Adequate wooden hangers. ✔️Electric Jug: Yes. ✔️Beverage: Teabags and Coffee powder ✔️Housekeeping: Adequate. ✔️Bathrobes: No. ✔️Slippers: No. ✔️Complimentary mineral water: Yes, 2 bottles ✔️Soundproofing: Not relevant. The resort’s units are well spaced out.
COMMON AREA BETWEEN THE ROOMS Though we’ll equipped with kettle, cooking stove and a fridge with freezer, it is practically impossible to use this area bec: No air-conditioning Lots of mosquitoes, despite the mosquitoes coil. We ended up going to each other rooms, especially in the evening. This is a bummer.
BATHROOM This is an open-air concept outdoor bathroom. Though enclosed, it is too exposed for my liking. Should have planted more trees for ambience and privacy. ✔️Decor: Back to nature ✔️Slippers: Provided ✔️Shower: Decent water pressure. Hot water is consistent. Option of rain shower available ✔️Bathtub: None. ✔️Clothes drying line: Yes ✔️Hairdryer : 800w ✔️Toiletries: Toothbrushes, shower cap, hand soap, body wash, razor, shampoo (no hair conditioner). ✔️Towels : Decent quality. Changed everyday. ✔️WC: Flushes well. Has handheld bidet. Good quality toilet paper.
WIFi Complimentary. Not very stable and reliable. We have our own data plans. Not an issue.
BREAKFAST Starts at 7:30am. Surprisingly good! There is omelette station. Beef/Chicken pho (alternate days) Asian-style fried rice/noodles + fried vegetable. There’s even beef stew on one of the days! White bread with 2 toasters Juice/coffee (good)/tea 4 types tropical fruits each day
SWIMMING POOL Small amoeba-shaped and quaint. Well maintained, despite being heavily chlorinated. Unable to do laps. Great for a cool dip in hot weather, amidst nature . Love it.
RESIDENT PETS There are 2 lovely dogs and 1 cat. Dog: Charly (Female) Den (Male) Cat: Mochi (Female). Recently became a mummy to 2 kittens. They are the highlight of my stay!
CONCLUSION:...
Read moreAn actual slice of heaven on earth; I would give a million stars if I could. I had a mishap getting my visa and got rerouted to Phu Quoc. I booked at 2AM and arrived at 7:15AM…they could tell I was stressed, welcomed me with breakfast and fresh juice and had a room waiting for me in a couple hours. The team here is so friendly and kind. The yoga was a great challenge. The BBQ dinner was as fresh as could be. Breakfast was diverse, expansive, and delicious. My massage released all pain in my shoulders. Getting a ride to and from the beach/Main Street was quick and easy since they are very responsive. I loved the indoor/outdoor options of the rooms. I highly recommend a garden view for a bit more privacy. The pool is clean as are the rest of the grounds. I know this place isn’t in the center of town but I preferred it that way; you are tucked in the jungle which felt so serene but with the 5 minute shuttle there are restaurants, money exchange, eSIM, etc. If you book excursions, most places do free pick up from here too. I am the type of person who loves to go go go on vacation but felt obliged to relax and take in the surroundings. PS if you look at all the poor reviews on here they are from many years ago so I wouldn’t trust them! Book this place for an unforgettable...
