The trip to Utopia Eco Lodge was quite a bumpy 45mins ride from Sun Plaza city center. But then that's beauty of travelling, we enjoyed ourself with vast mountainous view, plentiful of Rain Terraces and bright blue sky.||||The place is a quaint lovely farm stay, with a couple of modern fitted amenties - shower and toilet are besides the room. Will have to wait a few moments for hot shower but both toilet and shower are clean so start.||The Main "lobby" is a chill place to relax and watch the sky.||Owner is a friendly 30year old young guy, whom designed the place all by himself.||We had a very exlcusive dip in the natural mini waterfall , 50m away from the place. Take note that during night, the water level tends to surge and become fast.||We came 3 days ago and weather was cooling yet sunny. ||As it is all-natural, take note of some mosqutoes, moths and insects. Also the dogs are vvvv friendly and always yearning to lead the way, or wanting a...
Read moreIt's true what they say, to experience Sapa, you have to travel out of Sapa and this little lodge consisting of just 5 small chalets & a family bungalow, which we stayed in, will let you live & breathe Sapa. The view was superb, overloou hills and a big stream below. We stayed among villages. The room was clean & beds were comfortable. We had a bathroom attached and there was hot water, soap, towels and toothbrush. The owners served us directly and was friendly and chatted us up. They attended to our needs very quickly. I'm holding back another star because the room doesn't have a heater and the fireplace wasn't lit. The twmoery was around 10 degrees Celsius. Coming from the tropics, it was a little to cold to our liking. Also, there was no Wi-Fi. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. If you're coming in winter, do request for a heater as Sapa has been known to snow. I would still recommend...
Read moreWonderful eco-tourism mini home stay down by a rapid stream just outside Sapa. Lovely walk down the steep valley hill to get in. Once you get there, prepare to have left modern facilities behind and strip everything back to nature. Relax and enjoy doing nothing much except listening to the flow of the river and doing some trail hiking. We stayed in a bungalow, which is bare necessities only, yet comfortable mattress (only modern luxury is an electric blanket, which was greatly appreciated as the temperature was around 3-5 deg C during our stay). The bathroom is outdoor so might not be for everyone, but you have piping hot water. Host is very good and with his team take care of a lovely dinner and breakfast. The fresh river salmon hotpot was excellent. The price is on the high side, but keeps the karaoke tourist groups away ensuring uou get to enjoy the peasr and tranquility...
