I stayed at Holiday Inn Lusaka on New Year’s Eve 2024 to ring in the new year in a relaxed and comfortable setting, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. The hotel, located at the corner of Birdcage Walk and Haile Selassie Avenue in Longacres Lusaka , is perfectly situated for anyone looking to enjoy some peace and quiet while still being close to the heart of Lusaka.
I booked my stay using IHG reward points, and the process was a breeze. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome. They handed me a lovely welcome pack, and when I got to my room, I found a personalized message on the TV’s entertainment menu—such a thoughtful touch!
Speaking of the in-room entertainment system, it’s super handy. Not only does it keep track of your stay details, like any bills you’ve racked up, but you can even check out directly from it. It’s such a convenient use of technology and makes the whole experience smooth and stress-free.
The room itself was spotless, with a comfy bed and a sparkling clean bathroom. The gym was well-equipped, so I could squeeze in a quick workout, and the surroundings were calm and relaxing—the perfect vibe to welcome a fresh new year.
The staff really stood out too. They were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, making sure everything was just right.
If you’re looking for a comfortable and tech-savvy place to stay in Lusaka, I highly recommend Holiday Inn Lusaka. My New Year’s Eve couldn’t have been...
Read moreRooms are great, and the staff try their best, so that is not the problem. I have stayed at other hotels in Lusaka before, and will definitely not be back at the Holiday Inn. The rooms are modern and are serviced well, even if they do take forever to service. I arrived back early one day, at 15.30 and my room had still not been serviced. I left the hotel at 07.30 that morning!|The problem at this hotel is the restaurant. The food is terrible, and badly prepared. Breakfast was at least always ready on time, but the food was standard fare. Polony at breakfast? I stayed there for 9 days, and the breakfast was the same everyday! Trying to attract a staff members attention to get a coffee in the morning is a problem. |Dinner at the restaurant was a disaster. Food is expensive, for what you get. I take exception to having a 10% service charge included in the price of the meal. The standard of the food does not deserve that. I have no problem paying for decent food, but after ordering a T-bone steak the one night, and getting a pan-fried piece of overcooked meat. Zambia probably has the finest beef in Africa, but there is no sign of that at this hotel. I had dinner on a Saturday night, and it was only myself and one other person in the restaurant. Clearly management do not see that there is a problem, when their guests are not eating at the restaurant. The restaurant needs...
Read moreFirst time staying in the new IHG HolidayInn Lusaka, has a new clean feel to it. The room is great, spacious delightful deco, awesome comfy bed with firm and soft pillows, ample work desk. Thoughtful soft lighting and a good room safe - the roomy ones that slide open. Ironing board and iron.
The shower is great guaranteed to wash the stress away, ( could do with an extra tube of shower gel though) generous towels. Big thanks to the entire team, from the reception desk, housekeeping - superb every time with attention to detail, the restaurant staff very attentive and pleasant. The coffee is fantastic for coffee drinkers a must try. Food food food - a small selection but well done every time and delicious too, hoping with time the menu will grow. Portions are good, the breakfast is ok ( hope they will add afew surprises there 😀 or local options,)
Overall, a nice stay would love to have a gym and swimming pool but not a deal breaker, for the busy traveller with a tight schedule, I highly...
