This has been one of the worst experiences I have had with any company, if I could rate it no stars I would, but that one star can be for Dakota because she is the only one who has seemed to help.

I'm not one to leave a negative review because I know how they can hurt a business. However, I do feel that others need to know how this gym works. This may be a great gym if it's your thing and don't need to cancel or change a membership. Otherwise, steer clear.

I went in initially to just find out about a free trial as I wasn't sure if a gym space was for me as I prefer to be outdoors. I was then pulled aside by the manager to be told all about the gym, showed the spaces and then sign a contract.

I only signed the contracted with the knowledge that I had a seven day cooling off period (essentially a free trial) and wouldn't be charged anything if I cancelled beforehand. My fault for signing it, I'll take responsibility for that and know better for next time.

I was told to text the manager directly to cancel prior to end of cooling off period. I did this on day 3 of my trial as I realized the spaces were too loud and busy for me. No reply. Again, on day 4 to check. No reply. I called twice to check the cancellation and was told the manager would do it.

I was then charged more than $130 on day 7. Again, called to have this rectified and was told it would be cancelled and my money would be back in two weeks.

I was then charged the following week again. Called and apparently the cancellation still hadn't been actioned and I was a current member, with a lot of excuses from the manager (who still won't speak to me on the phone because he's always with another client and can't call back either)

I'm still in the process of making sure this is rectified, I finally received a cancellation email today from Dakota which I'd requested multiple times before.

Long story short. Go find another gym that won't suck you into a contract you can't get out of even when their T&Cs and Manager personally state you can cancel. Go find another gym that won't continue to take your money after you've requested a cancellation, won't return the funds to your account for two weeks or maybe even at all. I'm yet to find out if they have processed a refund, which also caused my bank to charge fees on also.

Please please do not join this gym, they are all so shady and money hungry, I signed up and had to cancel the next day, I rang up and was told that my account was cancelled, and that I wasn’t trapped into their yearly payments contract because I cancelled my account within the 7 buisness days that I was allowed to, I continued to get emails as if I were still a member, I would try to call back but could only get a hold of Riley if I pressed 1 and said that I was a new customer because they clearly ignore current customers or those who are trying to cancel their memberships because they are extremely desperate, I called them a couple of days later to make sure that my membership was canceled because I was still getting emails, and they said I was, today I’m still getting emails and now I’m trapped in there contract god knows for how long, I am also experiencing financial crisis at the moment and so I’m getting emails and harrassed by their debt collectors, also if you make a bad review about this company their response is “we don’t have a membership under your name” like blatantly gaslighting and lies, I can’t imagine how evil you have to be to be this desperate at scamming people for money, where are your morals and integrity?!, there needs to be a serious police investigation into Goodlifes contracts, marketing schemes and workplace and into how Riley their manager runs this facility, please literally go anywhere else, unless you can afford to have money taken out of your account randomly all the time and you don’t live pay check to pay check, I can’t imagine the amount of bad karma heading...

Top notch gym with all the things you would want in a gym and a great deal...that is, if you do manage to use your membership. If you don’t go more than TWICE in 12 months (like me, sadly) and have paid just over $1000 for all of that unfortunately unused time (essentially giving the gym money for doing absolutely nothing), don’t make the mistake I DID in thinking they will be compassionate and understanding when you want to withdraw from your membership one month early! They certainly won’t acknowledge that they have essentially been gifted that $1000+ for nothing in return and waive the $99 left in upcoming final payments before ceasing your membership. They will be greedy and expect every last cent. “It’s a business, after all!” This attitude is so disappointing from a gym chain like Goodlife. It just serves as a lesson learned and reminds me never to sign any contract with a gym again, in case life gets in the way & prevents you actually accessing it. Disappointed.
