I visited Spudshed Supermarket last night and had an extremely disappointing experience with one of the staff members, Angelique. I am writing this review to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding the disrespectful treatment I received during my visit. Upon reaching the checkout counter, I attempted to tap my membership card as I usually do, only to be met with immediate resistance from Angelique. Instead of calmly explaining the store's policy, she rudely insisted that I refrain from using the scanner to scan my barcode. Despite remaining silent, I continued trying to scan my card as it is something I genuinely enjoy doing. Unfortunately, her response escalated, and she abruptly grabbed the scanner from my hand, dismissing my actions as useless and unnecessary. This act of disrespect left me astonished and taken aback, as I have never been treated in such a manner before. After scanning all my items and preparing to leave, I gathered the courage to ask Angelique once more if I could scan my membership card. To my disappointment, she outright refused, stating that it would make no difference whatsoever. The dismissive and nonchalant attitude displayed by Angelique left me deeply hurt and disrespected. I was registered a membership card because I heard staff members asking about it few times before. However, this incident has shaken my faith in the supermarket's commitment to customer service. Adding to my distress, as I was completing the transaction, Angelique turned away without a word of gratitude or even a simple "have a nice day." This final act of discourtesy further emphasized the lack of respect and professionalism demonstrated throughout my encounter with her. I have never felt so degraded and undervalued as a customer. While I hope that Angelique's behavior does not stem from racism for Asian People. I cannot help but question her motives behind treating me in such a demeaning manner. Maybe we are not clever enough to get one? My boyfriend and I are regular patrons of Spudshed Supermarket, visiting at least once a week, and we have never encountered such a disappointing experience before. As a valued customer, I believe it is essential for Spudshed Supermarket to address and rectify such instances of disrespect and mistreatment. It is crucial to foster an environment where all customers feel welcomed, respected, and appreciated. I sincerely hope that appropriate action will be taken to prevent others from enduring similar experiences. I have always enjoyed shopping at Spudshed, but this incident has left me feeling both saddened and angry. I genuinely hope that my feedback will be taken seriously and that necessary measures will be implemented to ensure that no customer has to go through what I experienced. Respectful and courteous treatment should be the standard at Spudshed Supermarket, and I trust that appropriate steps will be taken to uphold...

Read moreLike other reviews suggested, love the positive sides of it such as the opening hours and wide range of stock. However the mood to shop was completely ruined after seeing the tall, bald headed manager repeatedly and publicly accused one of his floor workers being "you don't understand" and "do you understand" alongside with a lots of verbal warnings. It looks and sounds like a public insult to me. The worker looked depressed and embarrassed.
The verdict and summary of this review: Nobody has the right to judge who was at right/wrong, even having known the stories behind and this is THEIR BUSINESS. I am not putting myself in such position. I just thought this can be done behind the public. I said "the mood to shop was ruined" was NOT because I was particularly supportive to the worker, or being against to the manager. As a shopper I wouldn't want to imagine I may get some random rude treatments in the public in any possible situation when dealing with the manager/ staff is needed. I am not a gutted person so I admit that I was keeping my eyes out for the manager while I shopped, caused by the disturbance after witnessing the incident . After all, this is quite disrespectful. From my12 years life experience in Perth, this is also very un-Australian and I would say very un-Perth too. Hope you can also make your internal customers of your business happy Tony. I briefly described the manager's appearance because I think that something can be said or be done to improve before another shopper writing to express the similar experience or...
