Updating my review as we visited today- Sunday 10/08/25 and it was the busiest we have ever seen this pub in 25 years! Not a seat empty in the whole place and everyone was eating the huge serving of English 🏴 style roast dinner. Half of England had taken over the pub!! Amazing atmosphere!! We sat in rear bar at the bar and had shots of lemon vodka and a couple beers then left. Barman serving us was really amazing and run off his feet but keeps everyone happy. The waiter we noticed delivering meals did a great job too but not many said thanks which thought was a bit rude… We didn’t eat this time but watched him deliver 8-12 meals and he smiled on every delivery even after no one said thanks. The food looked incredible. We will be back to try the roast now.
Original review made in March 2024- Hubby and I use to come eat here a couples times every week but hadn’t been for over a year. We ordered off the lunch specials menu. Hubbys schnitzel was nice and he ate all the chips but he didn’t like the gravy. I had fish and chips and dipped all my chips in hubbys gravy that I liked but my fish came out super oily and was cold inside and tasted like nothing. I scraped off all the batter and just ate the fish. It was average. A super amazing staff member came over and asked how it was and I let her know. She advised there was a new chef but it won’t stop us coming back and will definitely eat here again. All the wait staff are always super nice, put up with me ordering the funny named cocktails and are always polite. We appreciated good service over the food and the Bentley has always delivered. Thanks guys, see...
Read moreThis places was given free air time by Today tonight, saying how great it was for kids recently. So we booked on a Saturday at 1pm for lunch, to take advantage of the supervised play time for my 4 year granddaughter, and the free meal she would receive. There was no such supervisory, and her meal had to be ordered off a different menu, not the kids meals off the normal menu. So she had fried chicken and chips. The chicken was dry and burnt and tasted weird. Hence she didn't touch it! When we asked about the advertised kids being entertained, the staff didn't seem to have a clue, and there most certianly didn't look like anyone there quailified to take care of kids either (all very young). Posters all over the walls about it, but seemed no one was interested in what was meant to be provided. Ours meals I thought were fairly priced until we received them. They were entree size! My son had an over cooked piece of dry steak (asked for med) I had a small piece of chicken thigh on top of four or five tiny pieces of 1cm cubed potatoe. Walked out hungary and bittery dissapointed and embarrassed after telling my kids what a fantastice review the place got for kids etc. They did have a small play area set up with colouring in and crayons however. False advertising all the way here, and over priced meals and drinks. $6 for a pint of post mix coke, they would have made $5.50 each for our drinks, just ridiculous! Don't waste your time going here if you think your kids are going to have...
Read moreThe Mac and cheese balls were just dough. No actual 'macaroni' (or what couldve been pasta) or discernible sauce or cheese inside. Staff stated they aren't made in house but the chef will look into it. The 2nd batch to be cooked never arrived so I decided to get a refund instead.
Now the satay chicken. When I showed staff it was pink I was told "the chefs cook it to temperature, some meat naturally has pink etc" I said I know this. This is too pink. I had to convince/argue with the staff to actually accept that its not cook enough. They way i was spoken to was condescending. I had to state I have health concerns so Im not risking chicken thats 'on the line of cooked' I wanted a new serve cooked and cooked longer. Finally the staff member agreed. I shouldn't have to disclose personal health concerns to convince staff to listen and address an issue.
The second serve took so long that everyone else at my table had finished there meals, children had gone to the playground and I was still waiting on chicken skewers. The next serve I was assured the staff cooked it longer, but I had even more undercooked chicken than originally. By this point I snacked on the smaller cooked pieces and filled up on a side of mash instead. Was so over the hassle that yes I was offered a drink free of charge but by this point I just wanted to leave. Very disappointing.
(Will add a photo of the raw chicken if needed, I'd describe it as pantone...
