Visited Jumbo BBQ Roast Duck House for lunch and ordered the following:
Ultra Spicy King Prawns: they're not too hot but you can feel the lemon tongue tingling tang of the Szechwan chillies. If you want heat help yourself to chilli oil. The prawns are perfectly cooked and the dish is excellent, certainly my favourite of all the dishes.
Asian Mixed Vegetables in Garlic Sauce: lovely array of veggies with a slight firmness, covered in a mild garlic sauce which elevated the plain veggies and was very enjoyable.
Half Boneless Roast Duck: love that dark red colour of the skin but it wasn't crispy which was a shame. The duck flesh is tender and succulent but missing a little saltiness and that duck juiciness one expects. The duck juices are nice. Solid dish.
Fried Noodles: pretty enjoyable dish with tender noodles but was expecting more flavour
Combination Meat - Roast Pork and BBQ Pork: the pork has a lovely crunchy crackling and is tender but missing that pork juiciness and could do with a touch of seasoning but tasty all the same. The BBQ pork is also tender but missing that slight sweetness one expects from a typical BBQ pork dish. Some steamed rice helps sop up the juices.
Nice surrounds with friendly people and service, food is fast out of the kitchen and enjoyed with a pot of Chinese tea.

Read moreWe've always been a regular customer of Jumbo due to the freshness and quality of the dishes especially the roast duck. However, we're very disappointed with our latest visit mainly due to the terrible customer service.
Here's what happened, we wanted to order a roast duck for takeaway so Jumbo was the first restaurant that came to my mind. We went there happily and were expecting to order and to be served as usual. However, once I've placed my order, one of the staffs (the lady) immediately passed me a readily chopped box of something (which she said the roast duck was freshly chopped, who knows how long has that "roast duck" been sitting there for). I politely refused to take that box and requested their staff to chop another roast duck, a few of the staffs were basically standing there doing nothing. However, that lady insisted they don't have time to chop another duck (much BS lol), so I told her that's okay, we'll come back later when you have time to chop. She then responded with the most disgusting attitude by murmuring "they're so annoying". My advice to this lady: I mean it's okay if you have a bad temper, but since you're in a hospitality industry, you can at least insult your customer when they've left the shop, not in front of them. And thanks to her, you've lost a regular customer - congratulations 👏
P.S. I don't normally give less than 3 stars, but one star is for the beautiful roast ducks that are being displayed at...
Read moreI have never written a negative review before, but this place deserves it. We arrived at 8 p.m. (closing time clearly stated as 9 p.m.), and the waitress gave us no greeting, just stared until we asked where to sit. Minutes later she rushed us to order, answered our questions unprofessionally, then snapped “decide first, then order.” When we tried to order again, staff ignored us at the counter until I spoke up, and even drinks were served with obvious impatience. The food was no better—vegetables were undercooked and overly salty, pork chops nothing like the photo, just starch with uneven salt. Only the roast duck was acceptable. Portions were big, but the food was so bad I didn’t even want to take leftovers home. What I cannot accept at all is the appalling attitude of the two servers. One of them even acted like she was the owner—otherwise I cannot understand such arrogance. When we left, there were still two tables of earlier customers still dining, so clearly it wasn’t about closing time. It felt more like they thought the two of us, as younger women, would be easier to brush off and treat poorly. If it had been older customers, I doubt they would have dared to act...
