Westfield Booragoon has been a reliable shopping spot for many years, offering a range of stores that cover most daily needs. From clothing and tech to groceries and basic services, it has all the essentials under one roof. The mall is practical and serves the community well in terms of convenience, with a decent food court that provides a good variety of quick eats and casual dining options. Itâs a place you can go to without thinking twice, knowing youâll find what youâre looking for.
That said, the mall feels noticeably outdated. While it gets the job done, the overall design and atmosphere feel stuck in the past. It lacks the modern, polished look and updated amenities that newer or recently renovated malls in the area have. The dĂ©cor, layout, and even some of the shops could use a refresh to keep up with the times. You can tell that itâs overdue for a serious upgrade, which could significantly improve the overall experience of shopping and dining there.
Despite its age, Westfield Booragoon is still functional and convenient, but itâs hard to ignore that it could be so much better with a revamp. It meets the basics, but doesnât offer much beyond that in terms of comfort or appeal. For now, it remains a solid 3/5âgood for what it is, but definitely not at its...
Read moreGarden City was our first and my favourite shopping mall when we migrated to Perth in 1987. Myer was where we bought Moran furniture and clothes.
Sadly my recent trip there was a huge disappointment. I was looking for a casual Winter jacket but the range at Myer was abysmal. Then I went to buy towels but could not find any price tags or shop assistance until I eventually found one.
Individual shops are well presented and I bought more pairs of sunglasses at the Wizard pharmacy.
Garden City besides losing its name has lost its glamour. The shopping experience for men's clothes at Myer was a bore not like before.
Garden City was the best shopping centre in Perth, somewhat more upmarket than others, but that's history. The ambience is gone and whoever changed its name to Westfield Booragoon is not smart. In those days everyone knew where Garden City is located.
It's still an OK place for coffee but not the place for dining anymore.
Garden City provided an experience not found elsewhere but its all gone. It can still be the top shopping mall without being the biggest. The Apple store was a great plus. Maybe some day the sun may shine on Garden City again. What's lost is her unique character, the ambience, that pulled us back regularly....
Read moreAccording to centre management or at least the behaviour of certain management staff. Common sense doesnât apply to them. To my knowledge whenever you order something from a cafe, you move out of the queue and then let the person behind you order. Right? Well apparently not according to centre management staff. Apparently signage is necessary for this. And if you follow that logic, apparently Iâm not supposed to wash my hands after going to the bathroom because no signage is present there. Itâs disgusting behaviour by centre management staff. Just because you work for the centre doesnât entitle you to act like youâre above everyone else. Itâs terrible behaviour to blame your lack of common sense and manners on âa lack of signageâ. If youâre asked to move out of the way by cafe staff to let people behind you order donât be an ass and begrudgingly move out of the way and lecture the staff on the ânecessaryâ use of signage.
TL:DR Signage isnât the problem, centre management staff are just rude and entitled and think they above everyone else just because they work at the centre. If asked to move out of the way, just move and donât be an ass about it . I expect more from...
