Always loved Miss Maud’s growing up however, this franchise is the biggest let down of them all. Ordered a meal with scrambled eggs and had a long black hair inside the scrambled eggs. This was at the bottom of the dish which I found when I was almost finished the dish. This is absolutely disgusting and will consider reporting to food safety. Rude service by the Asian waitress who talked to me in a condescending manner when being served at the counter and at the table. The sandwiches have barely any filling in them. They were tasteless and the bread was stale. When sitting inside, the room is extremely warm. Only giving one star because the drinks were okay. The sandwiches are not the same quality or fillings as other Miss Maud’s. They are dry and only filled at the brim. The mixed sandwiches filling is different to other stores. Do not get the nachos unless you just want pretty much a plate of Doritos chips, it’s a joke. there’s one tablespoon of tomato sauce with a tiny bit of melted grated cheese and 2 tablespoons of sour cream on it. I was so disappointed when I got it. The big breakfast was actually not too bad portion wise, except for the hair that I found in my scrambled eggs.

Visited the Miss Maud café at Garden City. The café is located near the Riseley Street entrance, close to the David Jones end of the centre. There’s plenty of parking around, especially in the underground lot, and the area is reasonably accessible with ramps and lifts nearby for those needing mobility support. Service was average, most of the staff seemed uninterested and disengaged. Floors were littered, I watched one staff member “clean” tables by wiping maybe 10% of it, which didn’t inspire much confidence in cleanliness. The menus are cluttered and hard to read, with far too many words for a casual café, definitely not user-friendly. The whole Miss Maud concept feels like it hasn’t moved with the times. What might have been fun and quirky a few years ago now (post lockdown era) just feels outdated and tired. On the positive side, the food was fine, nothing to rave about, but consumable. If you’re after a quick bite and nostalgic atmosphere, it might suit, but don’t expect anything too modern, exciting or fresh.

The picture I attached was just after a bite of bread and tomato. This is a big breakfast. It was served to me like that picture without sausages, hash browns and mushrooms on a small plate. Unlike the explanation on the menu, it comes with insufficient ingredients, but the price is the same? Does this make sense? I felt disappointed. When I told the staff, I waited 15 minutes more and she gave it to me. So, two stars. Didn't the staff in the kitchen (also Hall staff) make sure the menu was served properly from the beginning? It has big problem. Subsequent reviews. After that, I visited again several times with faith, and fortunately after that, it was fine. I hope it stays like this. (After visiting again later, I added the photos I took)

Ordered the avocado toast with goats cheese and cappuccino.

Unfortunately the food was a bit underwhelming, and in particular the sourdough tasted stale. The goats cheese was good and saved the food from being not good.

The cappuccino was missed from the order, after waiting for over half an hour we went up to ask the counter whether it had being missed. They claimed that it was never ordered and made it out like I was trying to score a free coffee. I was surprised about this given that they had read the order back to us when it was placed with cappuccino included.

This was a busier period for the cafe so I understand that this may have been a bad day for them. I recommend that patrons keep their receipt when ordering here so that its easier to show your order if they forget something (I didnt and will do...
