I love this place, it's a cornucopia of anything animals. I never leave without something for my dog. It is the TKMaxx for pets AND the Tackshop opposite sells Akubras and the store next door to to the that does food and it's the place to purchase everything NewZealand. I digress! In Capalaba Produce, you can purchase anything from birdseeds and rabbit hutches to flea and tic supplies. Seriously, you can get anything from frozen meat to dried chicken feet! Yikes! But, the best thing of all is YOU'RE ALLOWED to bring your animal on a lead. My dog loves this place and will spend ages sniffing and then happily sniping something from profuseness of what I call the dog "pick & Mix". You'll know it, when you see it. If I had to complain, it would be about the long queues, because there is always stuff to add to your basket, eve waiting in the queue. But, this bitter-sweet pill is always tempered somewhat at the cash register with your membership discount. However, please note, even going in with a list won't inhibit the impulse purchases, I think I like the toy section more than my dog does! I can spend a good 20mims trying to pick the one of many toys I know my dog won't destroy in an week. If you haven't Been go! It's...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly, and the wait time was generally short. They were very kind when I needed a refund.
However, I got a budgie from here. It was $34, so it was a bit expensive. Also, when getting the budgie out of the aviary, the employee who grabbed the budgie didn't use a net. Instead he grabbed the budgie with his hands, and he wasn't gentle.
He pulled the tail at least twice, pressing the small bird to the ground. Then he dragged the budgie at least 10-15cm along the ground. When I opened the box, it turned out that the budgie's foot was broken. The store was closed by the time I realised.
Overall: Good service from staff. Short wait time. A wide variety of staff.
You need to treat the budgies (and others) better. Give the staff more training or something. They're fragile, and I'm not looking forwards to...
Read moreI had the pleasure to visit Capalaba Produce with my husband about 4 months ago to see if we could buy a pool cover to keep wood ducks out of it. The gentleman who served us advised that they did not stock pool covers per se but he suggested that a large black net used for covering fruit trees could do the trick . Well guess what!! it is totally fabulous because not only does it keep the ducks away it also catches all the mega amounts of leaves that blow into the pool from adjoining park land thus making it so much easier to scoop them up and only the small ones go through the netting and the Kreepy Krawly picks them up - too easy now. I’m rapt!!!! And the cost...... $50 something - better than $4500 minimum for authentic pool cover. So thank you very much for your...
