Went to this place about a month ago, when we had a rain bomb hitting us. Days of relentless rain. Arrived at the cabbage patch, and noticed water on the floor. The place was flooded, and so I looked up, and there was a gapping hole in the ceiling, with water pouring out of the roof.. On either side, were electric lights.. mmm good combination for electrocution 🤦. The roof panels had collapsed, and an old dirty torn tarp was placed over the vegies. So here you have it, dirt filth and germs were pouring through the roof, onto the food that ppl were buying, and they threw a filthy old tarp over the veg that ppl buy and eat. The selection of fruit flies was simply amazing! . Yum sounds delicious 🤮. 🤦. I seriously don't know how this place is still in business. 🤷. It's filthy, dirty, and downright disgusting 😵. It should be condemned, pulled down and rebuilt. Why the health department let's this business to still operate, is beyond me🤔. Those fruit and vegetables are not fit for human consumption. Buy at your...
Read moreI have a very good nose and the very first thing I noticed was the smell of fermentation. very strongly! This is never a good sign when it comes to quality. I walked around and realised the quality was terrible, and could definitely see why the place smells that way, just by looking at the freshness or lack thereof of the produce.
My diet is almost 95% only raw fruits and veg for the last 8 years. So I know when stuff is bad, and when it is good, this place should not smell like this! You can tell as soon as you start seeing all the fugus/molds that the food is damaged goods.
I walked out without buying anything, I've been to places similar too this in the past and you would buy a perfectly good looking pineapple only to see the inside rotting, same goes with melons, bananas with black insides. ect.
This is bad health and safety practices, probably needs a deep fungus/mold cleanse and a reset. All contaminated foods should be thrown away immediately.
Must go through...
Read moreWhile produce here is at a seemingly good price, unfortunately it still comes at a price.
THE GOOD: large selection of fruit and veg, many being quite international that you wouldn't necessarily find at the large grocers. The shop is open 24 hours. The produce is cheap. The staff are friendly.
THE BAD: the car park was small and very tight to maneuver in when busy, no matter the size of the car. Unfortunately, due to the location of the shop, there can be an odour outside from the nearby water, of varying intensity. In summer, expect mosquitoes/midgies.
THE UGLY: the quality of produce was not high, much of it appears dirty, some had what could have been disease (though I can't say for sure), with suspicious spots and marks.
Overall, for affordable produce that is more reliable (though like all unusually cheap produce, make sure to inspect well regardless), I'd instead recommend T-Bones, about 10 minutes down the...
