What a waste of time!!!! USELESS

Was told to see a GP Geriatric specialist for my mother who could then assist me to try and get her the correct treatment for her deteriorating health. Firstly spent an hour completing an online new patient form only to be told in the appointment that none of the information had been uploaded. Bad start! Then sat with the Doctor who then had a little chat with my mother and then proceeded to tell me that she needed a referral to a specialist Geriatrician to which I responded "great, who do you recommend and will you help me with the referral process? " Apparently not!!, so we left the surgery with a few names and numbers written on Post It notes and was told to make the appointment ourselves and to call beck for a referral when the appointment was made.

So when trying to make an appointment with a specialist I ran into a Catch 22. Me - "Can I pls make an appointment with the Geriatrician for my mother?" Receptionist - "your GP needs to send a referral" Me- "GP said he would write one when I make an appointment" Receptionist - "It doesn't work like that, your GP needs to send a referral, they should know that" Me - "what course of action should I take?" Receptionist - "you need to see your GP to get a referral"

My main issue here is that a GP who specialises in Geriatrics should already know this but instead I left the surgery with two Post It notes and no more information or help than what I entered the surgery with which cost me $130 for the privilege.

I definitely wouldn't recommend this clinic. If you're a new customer they will send you a bluntly worded SMS demanding payment details up front to a third party website and an ultimatum that the booking will be cancelled within 90 minutes if you don't provide it. Since I was busy before my appointment I thought I could just simply pay for it when I got to the clinic.

Like the SMS said, my appointment was cancelled and so then I called the clinic to try and get it rebooked. The receptionist, who was quite rude, basically didn't want to help and repeated what the SMS said - "you won't get an appointment with us if you don't give your payment details up front" and then she just said "your booking has already been cancelled" and hung up. This clinic obviously doesn't care if you're busy before the appointment or running out of battery on your smart phone (or even if you don't have a smart phone).

Worst GP experience ever!!! I started using this practise after the birth of my first child in January 2022. I wanted a female doctor closer to my home as I have an amazing one in Strathpine but wanted something more convenient for my babies appts. From the moment I met with the Dr there I had a gut feeling that she wasn't amazing, but decided to continue to give her a few more tries. My daughter is now almost 6 months & after her referring her for the wrong head scan I have decided I have no faith in her ability to care for my daughter, so I am taking her else where. The older reception staff lady is also the rudest person I have ever met, and the way she treats you is utterly disgusting, especially for a nervous new mum. I don't understand why people need to be so rude and un helpful & she was not busy as I was the only person in there. Anyway I would NEVER use this horrible practise EVER again.
