Lunch today for first time for my Auntie's Birthday. Decided on this big beautiful looking new restaurant out of all the many options at Chermside Westfields. Firstly spent $200 So we were seated in a booth for clearly 6 max (that including the random hard and narrow, awkwardly placed chair on opening end. Which none of us adults and 2 elderly would be sitting on.
Twice asked for the extra cup, the second time waitress stated, oh what kind of cup? One for the person who still doesn't have one thanks.
No banquet listing on the menus but on the site? So had to look it up to see but the elders couldn't see on my phone so weren't interested, essentially would of spent more otherwise. (Thank god from future me). Took drinks menu away after ordered food.. though.was different menu, wouldn't you leave one? so looked like won't bother ordering more from the oversized drinks menu.
Someone came to put out plates for the entrees, again only 6? let her know need one more abd one was dirty. But no, we had to get up over 5 mins later to get our own. Also had to ask for a knife to cut the two bread entrees we ordered which weren't cut. So given a loaf without a knife, butter knives isn't going to cut it. * Pun intended. To top it off, Waitress never once say sorry or excuse me, they just lean over you over and over. Banging into your water or the stroller with a baby in trying to sleep, even drop a fork on your foot Edit one sorry after nearly got me in the head with a plate. We didn't ask for the squashed booth? So don't frown and lean all over me. Happy to put new plates near us, we could of taken ourselves to set. Or even ask if can pass the platesnto be cleared overnto her? Not just attempt to be a hero with a big over filled booth. I couldn't be bothered helping to assist, as she looked like she would rather not be there anyway.
Pizza was average as, toppings slid off as soon as you picked it up. I understand is traditionally inspired..but one to two chunks of meat per pizza, two chicken ones had next to no cheese. Felt like a preschool class made it, not a traditional inspired Italian dish. Bolognese, I had some from a can tin that tasted better. So all had to eat the four crush burnt base but somehow soggy pizzas. As my poor grandad was paying and didn't need to stress him. My dad enjoyed his inked pasta and oysters? Whatever he ordered. So 1/7 people. Though we got icecream after he got green tea flavour, so I don't trust his judgement. My grandad spent $200 today, being 85 he doesn't use bank cards, so he went to give her cash and incoming tip and she looked at him like he was crazy and such an inconvenience. That was actually the point I decided I was leaving an review. đ€đ
Some Last thoughts... Food came fast, likely too fast though. But atleast you are working on that with the insane stairs for the staff to trek. Staff need to smile more and be assigned tables. Get an Ipad table and order system where the staffs iPads Syncs with the FOH and kitchen for the size of the venue. Work on the Pizzas if wish to have so many on the menu. Potential, potential, potential !! Training, training, training !! I may edit if my family ever return and have feedback, I won't be...
Read moreDined in close to 2:30 Pm on Saturday 30th Dec. Service needs to be taken care of, when people dine in their not just dining in for the food, but the experience. And sadly both need attending to.
Not one staff member brought over water, and it seems a lot of the tables are missing jugs besides a few. The staff look like allrounders and just do jobs as they come instead of creating efficiency in the work place.
I got here just before their âmini rushâ started, and by the looks of things the staff were not at all prepared. Itâs important to take care of your customers while their dining in experience, i and everyone else looked abandoned. The floor was empty most of the time as staff are behind the bar hiding out, instead of chatting with the customers making their experience more homely.
Staff were getting drinks incorrect and still managed still not bring them out in time.
As for the food, prices are nice. But what would be nicer if the rice in the arancini balls werenât under cooked. Arancini also was served in a bowl? Which I understand if you donât have any presenting plates to place it on, but at least, give me a side plate so I donât have to go digging for my food. Pesto Greens were delightful, and the parmigiana chips were light and crunchy.
Itâs a nice restaurant, inviting atmosphere, affordable pricing and good music. I think the problem with the staff is not that their bad at their job. They might be too pressured to hurry up and lack the efficiency. As a business who supports themselves based on customary experience, itâs important to get to know each and every table. Attend to their needs and gain the opportunity to upsell.
Engaging with customers on a personal level will easily make any restaurant outshine their competitors.
Any who, I only came in because my car was getting washed. Iâll be back during their Dinner Menu to see if the work flow, food, and customer service is deferent then now.
Thanks...
Read moreWe arrived in a group of 13. Our team wasnât supposed to eat here however it looked really nice while we were walking around. Before we even walked in, we were being stared at from the lady at the counter, with a look that wasnât customer service friendly at all. We approached the counter and the hostess just looked at our group. We said Hello and advised of the number of people we had (completely understanding that a booking wouldâve been better) hostess advised there would be an extremely long wait with food for a group this size. We asked how long roughly as we understand that weâll be waiting. She advised 30mins. The group was more than happy to wait. She then advised that they can not cater to have us all on one table (which we were fine with) that weâd be on separate tables. Again we were more than fine with this as we didnât make a booking. We were seated. By this time the group felt as though the hostess didnât actually want to deal with a larger group. We then asked (due to allergies) if there were dishes or sauces with no onions. She confirmed with the chef which sauce was available for the guest with allergies. Then proceeded to advise that they canât guarantee it wonât be touched by onions. This we understood. She continued to repeat this making the person with allergies feel like an inconvenience and the group no longer wanted to eat here as it was like our business was not wanted due to the size of the group. We decided to leave because of this. We had seen this restaurant on social media and thought weâd try it as we had 2 influencers in the group and thought based on a video weâd seen that it would be a good experience. We went to another restaurant who catered...
