The Black was the perfect venue. I have a lot to mention here. I had my wedding there in September and it was literally as close as possible to a perfect day.

One reason why we chose to have our day there was that I was more than happy with what was offered on the bar menu. As a former bartender, I was not impressed with the very standard fare offered at a lot of the venues we were researching. The Black had interesting options that were aligned with the kind of stuff I typically choose to drink. They also offered the ability to do custom cocktails, and the bar staff did a great job of mixing these up. Also, the bar team were awesome and super friendly and helpful. Big shoutout to them.

Speaking of staff, the venue managers did an incredible job of moving things along. The whole day went seamlessly, and they were so approachable and supportive in the lead up. Total professionals. They offered a tonne of great suggestions for vendors.

The space itself is really warm with a great vibe and a lot of character. One excellent thing is the occasional food truck Fridays they do there, which gives you chance to see what the venue is like with a crowd so you can better envision your event there. The black blew us away on every level! It was such an easy decision to hold our wedding at this incredible, inclusive and magical space. The owner Kirsty is one in billion delight to deal with, and treated us with so much care and genuine excitement at every turn.

I was drawn to the warmly lit, industrial and green indoor /outdoor space. Even as a blank canvas I knew it would be beautiful, and then the few details we added to make it our own- the team executed this flawlessly! It was really like having an our own wedding coordinator included in the cost of the venue hire.

It did rain on our special day in showers, and that really didn’t stop us from having a wonderful and dry time! Our party of 90 were really looked after, and comfortable with the space. Including a musician, and two truck vendors in the courtyard was no issue at all!

MVP Kirsty, from greeting us at our car on the big day, providing bubbles during our photo shoot, sprucing every space available in the black to use, and packing down our party, moving umbrellas in the pouring rain… we see you, we love you, thankYOU! From our very first meeting, we felt completely at ease. The team were effortless to work with from start to finish. Every interaction carried a sense of calm and care, and we felt like they truly got what we wanted from our day - and then absolutely nailed it.

The venue itself is an incredible blank canvas. We didn’t need to worry about sourcing furniture, The Black had it all covered, with lots of different options- we barely did any decorating at all. We held both our ceremony and reception there for ease, and honestly it was such a good decision.

One of the biggest stress-savers was that The Black coordinated directly with all our vendors. It meant we could actually relax and be present in the leadup, knowing everything was under control.

We’ve had so many compliments from our guests, from the vibe of the venue to how amazing the bar staff were. We chose a cocktail style setup, and the energy in the space was just electric!

A moment we’ll never forget: pulling up to the venue, nerves buzzing, and the first person we saw was Kirstie the owner. Just seeing her standing there made everything feel okay. She calmed us in an instant.

We’ve had people say it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and we know The Black played a huge part in that.
