Zhen's Corner — Local services in Darwin City

I live just down the road from Zhens Corner and use them all the time. I called up to make an order for a vegetarian laksa and I got told that it would be a 30 minute wait. As i was pressed for time I said “oh that’s okay, no thank you” and the lady on the phone apologised and we said bye. 2 hours later (10pm) I received a phone call from Zhen (i was now speaking to someone else) and they asked if i was going to pick up my laksa. I explained what happened and that I never actually placed and order with them. They proceed to argue with me and then send me a text message saying that they would contact and report my contact information...

Tasty food, but very disappointed in the chicken dishes we ordered - turned out to be more bone, gristle and skin than actual chicken meat (even a few feathers!). My partner chipped a tooth on some bone, and I choked after being poked in the throat by a bone sliver. Every bite had bone in it - ground down into chunks too small to pick out by eye, but large enough to cause injury. Eventually, we just had to throw the chicken dishes away. The beef dish, on the other hand was lovely. In short - stay away from the chicken dishes and the food will not...

3stars for affordable food and 1 more star for portion serving. Buffet range is acceptable for a person on budget in Darwin. Highly frequented by locals, this place is busy, mostly take aways so u should be able to sit down and enjoy your meal. Large portion (14.99$) includes a soft drink of your choice. Walking distance to city, not far from bus route, Zhens corner is a place to try for a filling meal. Great fast service...
