Extremely disappointed tonight after ordering Uber Eats with one of my fav restaurants. My dog had surgery today so was unable to leave the house for pickup so used third party platform. When the first delivery did not arrive although saying delivered I contacted uber to see if I could get hold of the driver and was unsuccessful. I then ordered the food again for the second time hoping for a better outcome, again not being able to leave the house due to dog needing care. The second driver was connected to me and I advised him that my first order didn’t deliver and could he let restaurant know (I had tried to phone them multiple times without success). The second driver then delivered my order but informed me that they did not cook this again (1+ hours later) and the original order is the one he picked up. The order was stone cold and stale making it completely inedible. I then called the restaurant again and they originally said they could deliver it to me. They then called back and said I could pick it up- again me explaining I just had a dog out of surgery and could not leave him alone. I now am out of pocket from uber x 2 and still do not have dinner. Could have been handled better from staff and would appreciate they follow through with Uber so I am able to get a refund for the food I was unable to eat. Disappointed to say the least as their Nasi Goreng is my absolute favourite...
Read moreI am not too sure where to start - the ambience in the restaurant area is great and tucked away if you're looking to have a quiet meal - that's exactly what my fiancé and I were after. It was like a magical mystery tour to get to the restaurant through the jazz bar, but that just added to the positive vibe and energy. Our waitress was attentive and bubbly - even the barman paid a visit (I'm sure it was to check and see if I was alive after the chilli tequila based cocktails! Which I might add - are fantastic! I recommend "Vote for Pedro", "Tommy Lost in Kuta" is a more heavy duty spiced chilli cocktail - couldn't drink too many of those but great nonetheless. The Mojito's are very well done also) The food was impeccable, large servings and beautifully presented. We are still trying to work out the sauce that was served with the lamb cutlets - a beautiful fusion of flavour!! Overall, we will definitely be back - such a great experience tucked away in a surreptitious corner on the...
Read moreAfter having friends tell us about how great this place was we were sorely let down. Although all the staff were very friendly, the service was slow and we were left for long enough while waiting for our mains that we felt forgotten about even though the place wasn't even half full. No checking in for more drinks - just sitting there with empty plates and glasses for about half an hour.
The food itself was really disappointing, really bland and tasteless. Hands down the worst food we've had whilst living in Darwin for the past year, better stick to the weekend markets for delicious Asian meals and save your money.
In addition to all this this soundtrack of YMCA and other 80s classics really lowered what otherwise would have been a beautiful vibe and intimate setting. All together a total let down and unfortunately we will not be returning. The attached Smoke and Oak bar has some good live music and good atmosphere. Better to stick there and avoid the...
