Review for Jewel Private Residence Gold Coast
When booking accommodation at the Jewel Residence Gold Coast, it’s crucial to understand that this property is not affiliated with the Langham Gold Coast Hotel in terms of access to their facilities. Despite being in the same location, guests cannot use the Langham’s amenities, including the health club (gym) indoor swimming pool, play area for children, or the babysitting services. These services are exclusively available to guests staying at the Langham itself, and not those staying at the north or south towers of the Jewel Residence.
The gym provided by the Jewel Residence is extremely underwhelming for a property marketed as luxurious. It’s essentially a small room with just two bikes and a treadmill—nowhere near the standard you would expect from a high-end hotel/apartment. (I now have to pay an additional cost to use a gym in the area). The fact that you are completely restricted from accessing the Langham’s well-equipped gym only adds to the disappointment.
While the property is clean and visually appealing, it is not very family-friendly, particularly for those with children. The rooms are quite small for a family of four, with limited seating (not enough space on the couch in the living area), an outdoor area that only has two chairs, and inadequate storage for suitcases. We had to place suitcases on the floor, as there was insufficient storage in the room itself. Additionally, there is no bathtub, which may be inconvenient for families with young children.
Considering the high price point, the overall experience can feel underwhelming. The lack of access to facilities that many would assume are included, combined with the limited space and amenities for families, might leave guests feeling disappointed. Make sure to carefully review the booking details and confirm what is included before making a reservation, especially if traveling...
Read moreRented through GCLR. Gorgeous apartment and views. Furniture was good quality and the kitchen was well stocked. Langham complex is also stunning and both pool areas are really special. Unfortunately the management is less than ideal. Very poor communication prior to arrival and confusion with access at check-in. Eventually got sorted. Several maintenance issues that weren't a big deal, but for the price point we'd expect better. A couple of downlights were flashing so much that we couldn't turn them on and the drawer in the ensuite was quite difficult to shut. The sound bar on the television wasn't working, which we suspect was due to flat batteries in the remote. Four people (including a 1 year old and 4 year old) were provided with one bath towel each for a four night stay. No beach towels were provided. There were no tissues. A coffee pod machine but no pods (and it wasn't advertised so we didn't take any). We were given several conditioners but no shampoo, and generally all supplies were pretty minimal. When you're required to take out rubbish and wash dishes etc, it would be nice to have enough garbage bags and soap. All up we had a good stay and would go back, but with our...
Read moreBe very careful booking this location. I booked through Booking .com and once paid for, I was then sent a separate email from Jewel location outlining certain conditions which included an online and virtual check in, demands for $1000 pre authorisation as security on my credit card before staying, uploading personal details includes drivers licence / photo etc and miscellaneous rules such as a ‘To do list’ while staying at the property. Warnings regarding washing up dishes before leaving, towels and house rules and that they would not provide an early or late check in under any circumstances. . That’s not a Holiday or should there be such “pre conditions” or demands for money and authorisations / conditions that I did sign up for. Had we known these conditions before booking we would have went elsewhere....
