Considering the very beautiful Langham hotel and residential complex (Jewel) this cafĂ©, for our little group of 4, was a disappointing experience. A local was keen to show us the exquisite Langham reception and foyer area and we decided to have brunch at this cafĂ© so well situated close to the beach. There is a large open outdoor area perfect for ‘26 & Sunny’. Hopefully the cafĂ© will invest in outdoor gas heating units for the cool wintry days. The outdoor tables are fine for coffee only, awkward for meals. Four of us ordered together but the first and easiest order of a ham and cheese croissant was forgotten and came out ‘cold’ after a reminder when the rest of us had eaten. The coffees were mixed up and cappuccino served as a soy latte. My fish bites were absolutely delicious and the tuna poke bowl was apparently very tasty. The omelette sandwich which cost $22.00 was small and bland and apparently less than ordinary. The location of the cafĂ© really is good and with time and feedback I am sure service and food quality will improve. Will check it out again next visit to the Gold Coast.

The quintessential Aussie staples of avocado smash toast and flat white coffee were unfortunately the worst I've ever had. Toast was not toasty. Soggyish but not stale and dry, but definitely not toasty. Can't really mess up tomatoes, avocado and the other ingredients. Oh wait. The fried egg was rubbery. I mean it was all edible but disappointing. Washed down the disappointment with burnt coffee. Surprisingly that only increased the disappointment for the entire experience. Possibly the worst flat white I've had in my travels - could not finish. Saw the 3 star rating and thought it should be passable for a quick breakfast before heading off to the airport but was proven wrong. View's alright though but that's not too hard being situated by the beach.

First time here and l can understand the disappointment of some of the local people. We where exited to try but very disappointing. Waiting 20 minutes plus for our coffee.. we asked if they were coming soon and received some attitude. We also ordered 2 croissants thay came out quickly but l would like to eat it with my coffee, instead of constant looking if our coffee was coming. A croissants is a croissant little expensive $$$. Great location but l think it doesn't mean you can charge over the top prices . Not sure if I can pick anything positive except for location and view. You will need to do a lot of work to get me back. Hope you can turn it around.

We have returned for our annual fix and were not disappointed. Kim is still doing an amazing job of managing and hosting guests. Her staff are always obliging sometimes under difficult circumstances. Tyler and Daniel have been very obliging too.

Langhams is lucky to have such a great manager who runs a very efficient operation at 26 & Sunny.

Keep it up. We will return.

I had a coffee the first time and I must admit felt it was overpriced. What I did REALLY like and thanks to recommendation by Kim the Manageress, who is very good at her job, I bought some Va;rhona chocolate. What a "mistake". It was sooo good I have just returned for 3 more. Not cheap at $18.00 for a 120g block but truly a great chocolate for chocolate lovers. Also the first ingredient isn't sugar. It's cocoa. A slightly healthier option than most chocolates I have had.

Returned today to be greeted by smiling staff who go over and above what you would expect. Happen to ask Kim if they had porridge on the menu. She said no but would see what she could do. Well you guessed it. Porridge is on the menu and we will be going back to try that this coming week.

Cara made us a great cup of coffee too. It is so nice to have such friendly staff who are also very good at their job.

Keep it up. Well done Kim. You run...

26 and Sunny? More like 26 minutes waiting for a cold coffee.

Let’s talk about Pedro. This man was out there fighting a bird over a piece of bread. Honestly, the bird had better customer service skills.

Understandably, cafes serve food before coffee so guests can enjoy their meal hot. But my bacon and egg roll arrived looking like it had been through a custody battle. The yolk was already broken and wrinkled, like it sat there wondering where its life went wrong.

Pedro’s vibe was peak “I hate my job but I’ll pretend it’s your fault.” As front-of-house staff, owning up goes a long way. Instead, I got the classic “Sorry, we’re busy” while tables were empty and people who ordered after me were already sipping their hot lattes in peace. A cold coffee after half an hour? That’s just offensive.

But amidst this Shakespearean tragedy, there was light. Kim, the manager. Kim is an angel. Honestly, if it weren’t for her, I’d have left thinking the whole place was a social experiment.

Light at the end...
