Palm Court — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

This was by far the worst experience we ever had at the Langham. Food was stunning however service was absolutely non existent to say the least. We booked in for my birthday for 3 pax Ordered entree and drinks, after that it was like we did not exist, had to go to the bar on 2 occasions to order drinks, topped up our own water. Once entree was cleared no one asked if we wanted to order mains or another round of drinks. Once we ordered 1 last drink from the waitress, after waiting for 15 minutes, I went to check on the drink and got asked by the same girl that took the order ‘oh did you order more drinks?’. I just asked to cancel the order as by that point I just had enough. Then to get chased by her again because she forgot to charge us extra 20$ for something, knowing well and truly how unhappy we were with the service. The most disappointing part was we were here in August last year for mums birthday and the service was incredible, I even sent an email to management of the hotel about how incredible the experience was. Had previously stayed here & enjoyed the lobby bar as part of our hotel stay & service was impeccable! We have returned 11 months later & not sure what has happened. Very poor service - significant delays in attending to guests. We needed to seek out staff to order additional drinks & ignored for the rest of our time in the bar. Friendliness of staff has also declined. Used to serve complimentary nuts with high cost drinks in the afteenon - this has stopped - such a small thing but another thing that made the stay stand out. Staff very focused on attending to high tea customers in the adjoining lounge, however more guests in lobby bar area. Would highly recommend The Langham refocus attention to this critical area to ensure your hotel guests continue to experience the stand out service you are well known for. Would love to hear how they are resolving this to bring the lobby lounge up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
