Nonnamia Italian Food — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I very rarely, if ever leave a review of a restaurant. However, after hearing good things about Nonna Mia from a friend. We thought we would try it out.

Service: We were not disappointed. At all. The restaurant has a very welcoming relaxing atmosphere and decor with front of house staff that are second to none. Accomodating all your needs with a smile. There was no time pressure. They give you time to actually read the menu before asking for your order and the food itself was out rather quickly.

Food: We ordered the nonna mia meatballs and calamari starter with ravioli and Wagyu bolognese for main. The flavours were out of this world and the portion sizes were very generous. Like a good Italian should be. The amount of detail/pride taken by the chef and kitchen staff is noticeable as soon as the plate hits the table. The meals were both appetising to the eye and the palet.

Price: I think if this restaurant was in a different location it could get away with charging far more for their food as I have paid a lot more money for way worse food than nonna Mia. The price are very good for the quality of food and service.

Nice atmosphere & cute decor. Friendly staff. Food came out really quick! The pappardelle creamy bolognese had a really yummy authentic Italian sauce and the pasta itself was really nice however the mince was bland. The sirloin steak was really good and tender as well but again a bit bland - just think both meats needed some seasoning to it. The accompanying salad and mushroom were great as well (although menu said creamy mushrooms and it wasn’t creamy but still great!) Prices for mains were pretty good value & better than most places these days however I did find the cheesy garlic bread to be a bit pricey for what was served. Still very full though and enjoyed it!

Overall, I would recommend for authentic italian flavours and I would come back again to try something else to strengthen...

I found nonnamia Italian on the Menulog app and decided to call them for a pickup as it usually is more beneficial for the restaurant and the customer. I called up and ordered and they were able to offer gluten free options and the ability to customise the dishes to better suit a fussy eater. The staff were super patient on the phone and provided me with options for each person. They sent me a text message when my food was ready and was super polite on pickup.
