Very very limited buffet, with small prawns. Hot food kept running out, although it was refilled pretty regularly. No kids options out, but they did go and get nuggets/chips. Drinks took 45mins (had to order them a second time). 3 out of 4 drinks arrived. I had to order my daughter’s Pepsi a third time.
Loos not accessible to me at all (mobility impairment). Loo door led to a descending staircase.
Paying bill. People lined up to pay. Infront of others I had remind staff drinks were comp’d. I was told a figure and had to ask what we were being charged for. I had to say kids only had nuggets not buffet. Instead the sever checking us out could have said that’s $280 for two adult meals and two children’s nuggets (which needed up being our total).
We had a booking for 5:30pm. The elevator would not allow us to access the restaurant floor until 5:30pm (with herds of others). Then waited in a queue to be seated, despite our reservation. Once at the table we immediately ordered drinks. We were told we’d need to vacate the table and the bar would close at x time (which I was not told when I booked on the phone). The first drinks order was lost and never turned up. We eventually got table water when the first dishes were cleared. We barely saw the sunset (as it was almost completely dark by the time we were sat down, due to being winter).
Waiter was polite. Manager was polite. I don’t usually complain, but having no kids food options at buffet and a $65 per child cost was frustrating. When I requested nuggets, I was not advised that we’d only be charged for the nuggets. So I sat there thinking my children were each eating a shared bowl of nuggets for over $100. A second bowl of nuggets was brought to us after the Manager spoke with me. She explained the kids charges would be removed and we’d just be charged for the nuggets. After I brought up the lack of hot food present, she offered to comp our first round of drinks = bourbon & Pepsi (no coke avail even by can) + 1 beer + 1 Pepsi + cold milk + jug of water for the table. The Pepsi didn’t arrive for over an hour after I’d asked a third time. Then an extra Pepsi appeared. I explained we had what we’d ordered, the waiter said it was free. But it was on the tab, when we went to pay. I was embarrassed to have to ask for it to be removed.
Positives: very clean, polite staff and very polite manager, free car parking (only told of this at the end of dinner). There was a QR code in the elevator with a $20...
Read moreIn Gold Coast, this is the highest level rotating buffet with unique 360° breathtaking view. Other luxury buffets are similarly expensive so why not have this with an exceptional view? This hotel is a bit old & 1 lift had malfunction which made customers nervous. Grown in Australia Oysters were much larger than those provided at Syd Tower & Crown Sydney. However, just most are fresh but not all probably due to 3.5 days opening in a week. I had to spitted some bad ones to avoid being sick. Every $ is worth for seafood lovers & environmentalists. I consider oysters & mussels as vegetables because they neither move nor think. All shellfish reverse carbon emissions by locking carbon dioxide in the form of calcium carbonate. Pricey oysters & cheap mussels filter water & require no landing clearing to grow grass. Bloody Mary was a real Queen of England & Ireland. This State was 1 of the British Colonies, now is Queensland. Some people may not like fuel-saving uncooked oysters so this spicy tomato juice with lemon can help, in the expense of some natural ocean flavours. Balmain Bug is also known as Slipper Lobster. Lamb is the my favourite in the hot food section though lots of methane was emitted in their lives. Both dinner sessions in winter months have not much to see because sunsets are usually earlier than 5:30pm 1st seating. Unlike Tsukiji Outer Market which serves chopped whales in pieces (raw, deep fried & etc) HERE on 26/F 3 blocks away from the beach unexpectedly I saw at least 1 live whale swam along the Coast. Brunch & lunch have much higher value during Whale Season for the chance to spot 1 or some. When the sea is too cold for most people anyway, the opportunity cost of spending day time in this sky high...
Read moreMy wife, daughter and I went to horizons for dinner. My wife had heard about it and was excited to go there. When we arrived, the hostess was quite friendly, on the way to the table, she informed us as to where things were. We got some seafood, the bugs were dry, I squeezed some lemon onto them (the lemon was old and not very appealing), it didn’t help. The prawns and salmon were OK. There were also oysters and mussels which I don’t eat and some salads which didn’t look too appetizing. None of the condiments we’re labeled, actually, nothing was labeled. I then tried my hand with the hot dishes. The ribs were done in a nice sauce but a tad over cooked, the lamb was quite tough. The pulled beef had a very nice sauce but the fish was quite cold. The hot vegetables, as soon as I saw the broccoli was completely over cooked, I just cut my losses there, got some chicken satay skewers and called it quits. The sweets were a completely different kettle of fish though. All of the sweets that I did have were very nice. The hostess that was looking after our table was all over changing out any clutter on the table and the finger bowls. In short: The menu, not much selection and of extreamley poor quality. The hostesses were good. The restaurant, tidy and extreamley clean, you don’t get to see much at night. A lighting storm would look nice though. Conclusion: I definitely will not be going back there, if you remember Sizzler, Sizzler was a lot better, go to your local pub or club and get a better meal at a...
