Nestled in the heart of our charming town, Runaway Bay Shopping Centre is a delightful gem that has quickly become my go-to destination for both shopping and leisure. Although it’s a small local shopping centre, it packs a punch with its diverse offerings and inviting atmosphere.
Atmosphere and Ambiance: From the moment you step inside, the centre exudes a warm, welcoming vibe. The layout is easy to navigate, with wide walkways and plenty of natural light streaming in through the large windows. The decor is a tasteful blend of modern and rustic elements, giving it a cozy yet stylish feel. I particularly appreciate the seating areas scattered throughout, perfect for a quick break during a shopping spree.
Shopping Experience: Runaway Bay features a curated selection of shops that cater to a variety of tastes and needs. There’s a charming boutique that offers unique clothing and accessories, a well-stocked bookstore that’s perfect for bookworms, and a local artisan shop showcasing handmade goods. I love supporting small businesses, and this centre provides a great platform for local artisans and entrepreneurs. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the products is exceptional.
Dining Options: One of the highlights of Runaway Bay is its food court, which offers a delightful range of dining options. From fresh salads and gourmet sandwiches to delicious coffee and decadent pastries, there’s something for everyone. My personal favorite is the little café at the corner, known for its artisanal baked goods and cozy atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a long day of shopping.
Community Feel: What truly sets Runaway Bay apart is the sense of community it fosters. Regular events, such as farmers' markets and craft fairs, bring residents together and create a vibrant social scene. The staff in the shops are friendly and always willing to help, making the shopping experience even more enjoyable.
Conclusion: Overall, Runaway Bay Shopping Centre is a wonderful addition to our local community. It offers a delightful blend of shopping, dining, and socializing in a cozy environment. While it may be small, it has a big heart and a strong sense of community spirit. I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area—you might just discover your new...
Read moreWhat is going on with Runaway bay shopping centre I’ve been going here for the past 40 years and this used to be the best shopping centre, it had great variety of shops the food court was good but yesterday I was saddened with what I had seen. Firstly we walked around looking for Santa to get photos nope no Santa. Everyone should be good if you want a haircut you have about 6 hairdressers to choose from .🙄. NAB bank gone not even an atm at the food court, everyone must enjoy Sushi cause you have 3 to choose from. I just can’t keep thinking who is in charge of this place, can they not see the place has gone down the shoot? It’s a ghost town, what’s going on with Thursday night shopping everything used to be open till 9pm. Centre management needs to be cleaned out, clean the place up and bring back the old food court and fill the empty shops I was shocked I hope I’m not the only one thinking this about what was a one stop shopping centre.
Obviously Centre management has put up the rent to an ungodly amount, the fantastic carvery owners, and EB games, both had huge drivers of sales, but Centre Management wasn't happy enough clearly and were happy to move them out in exchange for more casual boutique clothing stores. they would rather have an empty shopping centre with casual stall holders that don't know any better. Vicinity Centres is by far the worst management company of centres in Queensland, yes even worse than westfield... at least westfield can bring in foot traffic.
i look forward to a Stock-Standard Ai written response from management to...
Read moreThis is a very good shopping centre and it's recently been refurbished. However, I'm assuming the rents are quite high because the takeaway food section is limited. We have no Chinese food, no noodle box, no fish and chips and no McDonalds. All four mentioned would be unable to make a profit while still charging market prices. High rents and staff costs make a huge indent into the viability of any business. There was a terrific Chinese takeaway with a lovely family operating before the refurbishment, but sadly they are no longer there.
There is also not one exceptional pastry shop. The cafes which sell cakes and other sweet treats do not operate on a fresh daily basis. It would be great for example to have a Ferry Rd. type pastry shop where you know the cakes are baked daily. If you want fresh pastries it's Baker's Delight, where baked daily applies. and the staff are always friendly and efficient. The cafe/food area is beautifully maintained and a pleasure to be in, but it would be a lot busier if we were offered greater variety.
The remaining stores are fine and it's great to have Coles, Woolworths, and Aldi available One very important omission is the lack of a hardware store, so if you want any small hardware item, you will need to track to Bunnings or Mitre 10. In summary this centre is clean and fresh, and good for supermarket shopping. Free excellent parking facilities...
