UPDATE: The practice manager called me directly and was very helpful. She went out of her way when working at home to address my issue. She spoke to my doctor and saved me an unnecessary trip to the practice. Thank you.
Hello. I rang today and spoke to the receptionist. I requested to know whether my blood test had come in and whether I was required to come in for Hep B vaccination. She told me I was required to come in for an appointment to get my results and couldn't tell me the results. I advised her that if my Hep B test came back as immune, I would not require a vaccination and therefore why would I come in for an appointment. She told me the appointment would be bulk billed. To which I responded that my time is not bulk billed. I requested she get a message to the doctor and ask him to make an exception this time - all I need to know is if I need to come in for the vaccination or not. Not an unreasonable request, I would have thought. I was not rude to the receptionist at any point, but I was firm that I didn't think it fair to ask me to come in for no reason. She blatantly refused to ask the doctor then hung up on me. To add to this unacceptable treatment, when I rang back immediately, she left me on hold for 10 minutes. She eventually answered and again refused my request to ask the doctor. When I asked to speak to a manager/senior employee/doctor she told me they were busy or not available. I must admit, at this point, I got upset and told her her behaviour was unacceptable and I would be reporting it to a manager. I am writing this on here, because hopefully someone more senior will read it. I can't get through to anyone via any other means as your receptionist is blocking all communication. Anyway, would be greatly appreciated if someone can please let me know whether I actually need to come in for my vaccination, or whether I am already Hep B immune. My trip to Vietnam is in 4 weeks and I believe you need to get the vaccination a certain time before your trip (3-4 weeks maybe?). Please...
Read moreThe doctor here found sites on my skin that have potential to be cancerous. He found another that is highly suspicious and is being cut out next week. All after another doctor had missed it.
Edit: So as it turned out, it was a level 3 melanoma. Luckily for me, Dr Hussein acted swiftly and removed the tumour less than 24 hours after I recieved the news. I will be forever grateful for this man's work. As mentioned above, there was another skin "Doctor" that I visited ... ahem ... at Burpengary East. This doctor missed a level 3 melanoma! Dr Hussein told me that I am EXTREMELY LUCKY that I jumped on it so quickly, other wise in a matter of months it could have become fatal. It pays to get a second opinion!
The lab results stated that my level 3 melanoma had not spread...most likely because I was on top of it. Furthermore, there is apparently a 20 percent chance of level 3 spreading to other areas of the body. I am somewhat relieved by those odds and will be ever dilligent in getting my body checked and taking care of myself and what I do and eat but especially how I exercise my body and protect it from excessive sun exposure. After all, as Dr Hussein said, I am a young, 38 year old. I'll be off to buy a long sleeve rashy for swimming this summer over the next month or two!
Additionally, if you are reading this, there is another practice across the road that people are potentially confusing with Dr Hussein's practice. Therefore it is likely that many of the reviews that you see here are actually targeted incorrectly.
If you are looking for the best skin cancer doctor this side of the moon, then Dr Hussein and his team are...
Read moreI came to this practice on Tuesday the 24th of May 2022 with my 1 yr old son. I explained to the doctor that my son had not been eating or drinking, not sleeping, crying all day (which is very out of the ordinary for him) and has ulcers in his mouth. The doctor looked at my sons ulcers and said these are (insert name of ulcer) and they are nothing to be concerned about and to keep giving him fluids. He asked was he on a bottle, I said no he is still breast feed and he rolled his eyes. I explained that my son is usually a really good sleeper and I know he’s teething but this is still out of the normal for him and was there anything I could do to help him get sleep. The doctor did not check Anything for my son besides looking at the ulcers, even when I had said he hadn’t eating in 48hrs. He told me my son was fine and to keep fluids up and encouraging food. My son continued to go downhill and I wasn’t happy with the opinion of this doctor so I managed to get him in to see another doctor on Friday. This doctor did a full examination, temp, checked ears chest and throat. Straight away she saw that my son had an extremely bad case of tonsillitis including pus on his tonsils. She put us on antibiotics straight away. I am so angry that your clinic didn’t do the relevant checks to confirm my son was really ok. Instead I left your practice feeling like I was wasting your time. I am angry that my son had gotten worse and worse because of negligence from this practice. Thankfully my boy is now on antibiotics and starting to get better, but I’m glad I got a second opinion because who knows what could of happened to my...
