Original Review from 2018 (4 stars): Very good quality Sushi, and who doesn't love a rewards system? Likely related to their high quality, this place can be very busy. Also, not the cheapest sushi going, but you get what you pay for!
Latest Experience (2022) Tokyo's rail transit system is widely regarded as one of the best in the world, especially when it comes to punctuality. An article online even mentions that the average delay of trains is less than 1 minute per year.
If Sushi Train: Mango Hill was in charge, the trains would be half an hour late by the end of the first day.
We placed our order using the app at approx. 07:00pm. The app advised that our order would be read at approx. 07:22. We arrived to collect our order, noting that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy.
My wife went to collect our order while I stayed in the car with our young son. After about 10 mins, she was advised that they were working on it and it was about 5 mins away.
Another 10 mins passed, my wife was then informed that they were running low on rice, were closing early, and were trying to finish our order. The previous order that was only '5 mins away' was not ours. By this stage, our vehicle had turned into the Screamodrome. Everyone knows how much a 1yo child enjoys being strapped into a car seat - I was awash in sqeals of joy
Finally after half an hour of waiting, my wife returned to the car with our order, with some replacements, and no offer of free drinks or anything else to make up for the inconvenience.
Arriving home, we were greeted with the smallest rolls I have ever received. Impossible to tell if any of it was fresh, as it was all cold.
We have generally had good experiences at this restaurant (pre COVID), however the prices have been going up, and quality has been going down. Unfortunately, you don't really get what you pay...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing experience here definitely worth the 5 stars. Despite waiting for a short while definitely Ioved my night. After being seated we were approached about 10 minutes after browsing the menu asked if we would like drinks and anything from the kitchen directly, given our drinks and food quickly (nice and hot too) and always double checked we didn't need anything more. THE BEST experience of the night was after my daughter cut her finger, they were so accommodating, offering her a free dessert and grabbing her some stickers and a colouring book to distract her while I bandaged it up, the gorgeous waitress wiped her tears and when we went to pay gave her a loyalty card and stamped it with a cute panda stamp. Went above and beyond for us and truly appreciated it as I was with 2 kids and my 17...
Read moreBusy sushi train. Each dish has a different price. Many options for food but I was so sad that they don’t have summer roll.. They only have sushi rolls covered with rice paper. Not bad. Compared to Sushi Edo, we still need to pay for water here. 🥲
We also ordered Edamame which was in a good portion but it was so salty… i cannot even finish it. Conveniently, we can order through QRcode. There is no Ipad or machine to order. I am not sure i want to go there again since i could not find any favourites that makes me really sad.
Its good to have sushi in a good portion but I personally could not find favourite dishes! Plus, i wish they have more salad and summer roll options...
