★☆☆☆☆ Absolutely Disappointed – Do NOT Book for Your Wedding or Event

If you care even slightly about your music, atmosphere, or the overall vibe of your event – DO NOT book The Rise Maylands. They will ruin it.

You will pay a fee $$$$ for a venue, and yet they refused to allow our professional DJ to use their own speaker system. Instead, we were forced to use the venue’s outdated, crackling excuse of a sound system – honestly, it sounds like a 1900s radio. The bass was non-existent, the volume was weak, and the clarity was shocking. Imagine trying to dance or enjoy your special night with sound cutting in and out or muffled like it’s coming through a tin can.

We tried to reason with them, but they were completely inflexible and dismissive. What’s the point of hiring a great DJ if the venue forces them to work with garbage equipment?

This isn’t just a minor issue – music sets the tone for an entire event, and The Rise Maylands killed the vibe. For a venue that charges this much, the least they can do is either invest in a modern sound system or allow professionals to bring their own.

Good facilities to book the community halls for functions etc., but I was utterly frustrated with the refund process. The lack of information provided from the administration team is frustrating. The team at the front desk who I've been in contact with apologised for the delays in processing caused by their backend finance team, but seems like there's no ownership of the issue that I've experienced from the Rise team. At the time of the booking, I was promised that the refunds are processed within 10 days, its been almost a month now, and haven't received the refund or any communication from the team confirming when it will be processed. What a disappointing wedding experience. The venue management let us down. We came for a wedding and the music was so low we could hardly hear anything. Firstly our DJ couldn’t use his equipment and what was provided was sub-par which created a sombre mood. The speakers muffled through the hall and the guests could hear the feedback which was quite distracting. Anytime the DJ tried to amp the music, the control room downstairs interjected and reduced the volume. Our guests could hear muffled noises across the hall upstairs and this was rather unfortunate for such a colourful and eventful wedding celebration.
