From the outside the place looks small but it isn't. I've been here for an afternoon beer as well as dinner twice the more recent time being Wednesday 27th August 2025. I'm not really into Italian food because of the pasta and it's propensity for high carbs and some herbs that leave me with reflux afterwards. Starters I ordered S n P squid and a cacciatore and we had garlic bread and garlic pizza bread. I didn't eat the pizza bread but the other starters were delicious. My Main I ordered Chicken Scallopini that didn't have pasta. It was delicious with plenty of delicious sauce. Dessert I ordered Pannacotta which wobbled like a belly dancers stomach. Food came out relatively quickly but may be because there weren't many guests tonight. Unfortunately, I did suffer reflux later, most likely caused by the pesto. The room setting seems to be period but everything put together, one is not quite sure which. It is still nice. They have indoor/outdoor dining but a cold, raining spring evening you do not want to sit outside. In fact, I didn't take my sheepskin lined jacket off throughout the evening. The atmosphere is subdued, so is a place where you and your romantic date can have a nice quiet conversation. The background music ranged nicely. The service was really good with only one waitress serving tables. It wasnt busy so she managed very well and was attentive. The person at the counter made drinks including coffees for people walking past. Lots of Uber Eats/Door Dash pickups while we were there. They have a person constantly making pizzas so he was kept busy throughout. They have surf n turf and fish n chips if pasta and pizza are not your thing. Overall, I'd recommend it and once again I forgot to...
Read moreWell where do I start. My partner & I went for Dinner, we chose to be seated outside. 20 minutes had passed with no sign of any service. Restaurant was NOT busy. I then went to the counter to ask if it was table service or do I place my order now. I was informed it was table service, I mentioned we have had no service for 20 minutes. Manager obviously heard of this and came out to say sorry you are out of eyesight and we forgot you. Offered a complimentary Garlic Bread (Which must have been sitting in a Bain-Marie all day). Yuk.
Drink orders finally taken. Then waited 10 minutes for them...Still no staff to take our order for main meal (Dinner).
Finally my dried up over cooked Salmon arrived. With mash that tasted like microwaved Deb (Fake potato powder you just add water to). Not to forget one piece of mushy Pumpkin & the other being rock hard.
Rifo, here is some feedback for you: If you can't see tables in your own Restaurant, then either you are in the wrong business, you need to go to Specsavers or don't offer Al Fresco if you cannot be bothered stepping 2 metres away from your counter.
And sorry to say but the water tasted better...
Read moreCame here for Brunch with my friend to find out our server had stopped me on the street in front of Rifos earlier that week to tell me to go to back where I came from. For context I was walking down the street and she stopped in front of me and motioned for me to go around her. Before I could react she told me “In Australia we walk on the right side of the path. If you can’t understand that maybe you should go back to where you came from”. She continued to explain to me how “In Australia” they do things differently to “where ever I’m from”. I’m from Australia. Spoke to a couple people in the area about it. Turns out I’m not the first person she’s done this to.
If you go here and your server is a 5’5/6 blonde woman with curly hair and glasses. Id suggest showing up with an Australian flag and your citizenship or she might not serve you.
(As soon as I noticed she was my server I let my friend know this is the racist woman who stopped me on the street and we...
