Love this chain of stores! Bring them back to Sydney!... or maybe don't, because when I had to walk past one going to and from work every day, it cost me a (suitably discounted) fortune. I always head straight to the clearance section coz I like all that weird obscure stuff (and I'm that kind of really annoying, very cheap person). My book catalogue app says I now have 60 books from Book Grocer, so they have definitely helped facilitate my book hoarding issue (I expect to have about 100 years after I retire with nothing to do but read (and drink) so I don't think this is really a problem as such).    Read moreStaff was very helpful. I went to the Northcote store. I went there a week after I ordered my book and the staff still remembered me. My book came in quick but I could not get back till a week had passed. Shop was well laid out, neat and tidy. Online shopping is possible but I decided to visit the store. The book I bought was on special, $10, a bargain, most other places were selling my book from $14 to high twenties! Prices of other books seem reasonable, not overly priced. There is free on-street parking for quick dash in & out's. Busy street for parking but I managed to get parking the 2 times I went. My uncultured self canât find a single book I recognize or on my TBR and the store was located so far away from everything too! Just felt kinda disappointed. I suppose itâs not the store for you if you are just getting into reading but itâs great for a niche find.
