Extremely Appalling Experience at the bar in this establishment.
I visited the venue on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, around 5:55 pm, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While patiently waiting at the bar, I encountered some concerning incidents.
The manager, Iza, displayed a lack of professionalism when she rudely instructed me to move to another location. Despite this, Mia, a staff member, kindly apologized for the wait.
Upon expressing my concerns about the manager's behavior in a non-confrontational manner, I was met with dismissive comments from the red-haired bartender, Alan suggested I should go easy on the manager, citing her second language as a reason. I emphasized that English is also my second language, and such an excuse is not acceptable. To my surprise, Alan's response was to direct me towards the exit, stating, "If you're not happy, the door is that way."
I sought confirmation from the manager, who did not deny the bartender's sentiment. This raises serious questions about the establishment's commitment to hospitality.
Adding to the disappointment, the overall atmosphere upon entering the venue was unwelcoming. With the exception of Mia, none of the staff seemed interested in providing a positive experience.
In summary, my visit to The Bank on Collins left me questioning the professionalism and hospitality of the staff. Mia was the sole beacon of warmth and competence in an otherwise disappointing experience.
On another note, I was told that the restaurant is operated by a separate company to the hotel. Take that...
Read moreExcellent location in the Central Business District of Melbourne. I was able to walk to every place of interest to me, which included Rod Laver Arena, Flinders Street Station, National Gallery of Victoria, Southgate, Queen Victoria Market, and a huge selection of eateries. The property was also a heritage building but enhanced unobtrusively with modern amenities - just what I like. The air conditioning was excellent (very important to me), breakfast was sumptuous, and this “apartment hotel” also featured a kitchenette and washer-cum-dryer in my room. Mine had only a microwave, which was fine with me. But there are other rooms which feature a full stove and dishwasher; so, ask. The service was very good and when I told them to just make my bed everyday, they went above and beyond by cleaning the dishes, etc. I opted for a top floor apartment with a balcony, but found that the balcony did not offer much of a view (as the hotel advised). Finally, my room was very clean and very quiet.||There were only a couple of minor drawbacks:|1. The shower is part of an old fashioned bathtub, which had the tub input faucet in the center of the tub. So, you had to watch your legs while showering. But it was not super inconvenient and I got used to it. The tub was also deep so you had to be careful getting out of it.|2. The dryer didn’t seem to be particularly efficient for I had to redo the drying a couple of times. But it was not particularly inconvenient because I did my laundry while...
Read moreThis is the second time that I stayed in Treasury on Collins. I think this is the best aparthotel in Melbourne and I really LOVE it!
Cleanliness: The room is perfectly cleaned like brand new! Even the water tap, bathroom floor grate, toilet paper holder and even the chair arms were polished and so shiny, I wondered how much time they spent on cleaning, it is spotless and flawless. The housekeepers really did a great job!
Quality of service: All the hotel staff are very friendly including the front desk staff, housekeepers and technicians. They are very kind and welcoming. The booking arrangement is very smooth too, the hotel has sent me another direct confirmation even I booked from an agent to ensure everything is what I've booked.
Hotel amenities: The hotel is using Molton Brown Hotel Amenities and the quality is very good, my skin is a very sensitive type and I didn't have any allergy when used their hand wash and hand lotion. It smells so good too.
Hotel location: The building is located in the main street which is very safe and convenient to go around the city.
Hotel building: The hotel is a historical building and conserved very well and elegant, appreciated the owner's effort on maintaining this building in such a great condition.
Price: The price is reasonable and affordable for such luxury experience.
It was absolutely a fantastic experience and I definitely will stay in Treasury on Collins when I go to Melbourne again and would recommend it...
