My boyfriend went in to by a slab (he’s 27), but he left his wallet at home so didn’t have his ID. I went in to grab them for him as I had my ID, and the girl at the counter was so condescending and rude, saying that she can’t give them to me because she knew they were for someone that didn’t have their ID. I totally understood that and completely get its part of their job, so that’s fine, but the way she spoke to me was so rude and condescending, making me feel like I was dumb when I was being really nice and understanding. Absolutely disastrous weekend shopping experience! Went in to buy a couple of bottles of nice Scotch and for my whole two minutes in the store was shadowed by a bean stalk young staff member and made to feel like I needed to move on - to the point that I felt threatened and decided to address the issue. When I did and asked the kid who was not wearing any identifiable store clothing or name badge why he was within 2 metres of me the whole time (whilst in Covid #6 Lockdown mind you)- he had the audacity to mock me and suggest that he was just "facing stock." This is an epic store for local products. They have an awesome setup of Fizzer with different flavours. The beer selection is great with lots of local options. My favourite is Old Mate Pale Ale. The staff in the store are super helpful and have great knowledge. They always say hello and offer help. They have some great specials and offer a members discount on some products.
