I love to drive through Abbotsford. There are many nice hidden places, a great mix of old and new buildings, and also many cool cafés. By coincidence, I stopped in front of a huge brick building. I could see the many guests enjoying lunch with a coffee through the windows. Yet, it took me a while to find the entrance. Once I found my way in, I felt chill in the relaxed environment: a lot of natural timber, painted brick walls, rough untreated metal, re-used street signs and cute little cups – upside down with a light bulb inside. After six months in Australia, I start getting used to order my coffee first, and then - once the coffee is served - order my food. This is not at all common. I would say it is rather unique to Australia, to order coffee first and then lunch. In most countries I have visited, I would first order food, finish my plate and take my coffee to finish the meal. I ordered a double single origin Espresso from Ethiopia and a flat white with the house blend, to make sure it will well cut through the thick Australian milk. The moment my two coffees arrived, DISCO 2000 from Pulp (Common People) came out of the speakers. A perfect song for a flat white! I loved the latte art and the milk was perfectly textured to the perfect temperature. One of the best flat whites I have had so far in Melbourne! WOOOOOW – THANK YOU SO MUCH! A true moment of happiness. Again, the Australian coffee culture is not about coffee only, it is about design, architecture, great hospitality but also ABOUT FOOD! The THAI BENNY was also amazing. By coincidence, I found the perfect spot to have a super, super, super tasty flat white, a powerful Ethiopian espresso and a monster delicious lunch.

Poor service but A'mzing French toast. I sat on the table next to window for myself and ordered a longblack. First, I was unpleasant due to the waitress who kinda banged my coffee down on the table and saying 'here's your coffee' without smile nor eye contact and left straight away. I still don't know who the hell waitress was as I couldn't get to see her face. Coffee was pretty average. Sadly I could taste none of the descriptions about coffee(No apricot and peach, juicy-sweet nor floral aroma) And another waitress came to get my food order. I ordered french toast but i had to see someone who came way after me getting french toast before me. I asked the waiter to check my food and they seemed not to know what happened. After 20min or more waiting, I got my french toast finally and it was A'mzing. Rhubarb and apple compote was absolutely beautiful and also caramelised apple. Toasts were soft inside and moderately crispy outside. Pistachios gave me great mouthfeel. When I was about to pay, Manager asked me how was everything. I said it was okay except for waiting and he offered me some sweets to take home due to waiting which was nice of him but I didnt need that. I would love to give 5 stars for food but overall I got poor service. I dont think I will go back there unless I desperately need french toasts.

Located in the Denton Hat Mill (Australia’s first steam powered factory) which closed in 1971, Three Bags Full has taken up residence since 2009. You’ll find classic cafe items with a twist, and some culturally inspired dishes as well. 🍳 Turkish Breakfast (GFO) + Sujuk $22 + $6 Variety of components in the dish to keep taste buds happy. The bread was toasty with crispness yet fluffy with a bounce. The poached eggs are laid in a garlicky creamy yogurt, which gave fresh and tangy flavours. For more subdued flavour alternate to the baba ganoush and cucumber and tomato sides. 🐷 Pulled Pork Benedict (GF) $24 My fave type of rosti which was chunky with thin crispy outer, seasoned with herbs. The pulled pork was stringy yet tender and juicy. Pork crackling dusted with spicy powder but not crunchy. 🍓 Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast $22 My fave part about this dish is that it actually has been thoroughly soaked in egg which resulted in a moist toast. Had a fruit pudding-like texture with toasted crispy edges. Biscuit crumble, strawberries provided supporting flavours and textures. Jelly was an interesting addition! We were thoroughly satisfied with all the dishes we chose, which were all unique and so well executed.

As the weekend approaches, it's time to plan for brunch again. This café has been a favorite of mine for many years. I seriously have a weakness for historic buildings and vintage decor. Sitting at the corner table, looking out the window at the falling leaves and passersby, it feels like the world quiets down. On weekends, they have an interesting specials menu. My favourite dishes are as follows: 【Pulled Pork Benedict】 The smoked pulled pork shoulder is tender and finely textured. Paired with apple slaw, parmesan potato cake, poached egg with a runny yolk, and drizzled with chili honey hollandaise, it leaves a lasting impression. 【A Humpty Doo Barramundi】 Previously known as the Barramundi Waldorf, this dish has always been my favorite. The revamped version is delicious, featuring crispy-skinned fish paired with pea puree, snake beans, fennel, and crispy batter fragments. The taste is exquisite. If it's your first time visiting, be sure to try the 【chili scrambled eggs】 I enjoy shopping for groceries nearby, and it's nice to stroll around Richmond, Bridge Road, or Collingwood. There are many interesting and vintage shops to explore after coffee and brunch.

Loved the location (I was educated by my partner), part of the old Denton hat mills which was between the late 1800's and 1940 Melbourne's first steam powered hat factory, 3 bags full is fulfilling to the eyes as much as their food is on a cold Saturday morning. We took advantage of the bright sunshine and chose to sit outside noting a steady queue of people waiting to be seated inside. Service was fairly quick and we waited for a vaguely reasonable 30 minutes for food, only saying its reasonable based on the number of people in there. My partner had the savoury french toast and I shamelessly stole a 'taste' - cailiflowery, garlicky brioche topped with poached eggs and on a base of aioli, they were brilliant. Having said that I had the patatas bravas and that's a big warm hug to the insides - poached eggs on a thick ragu of chorizo, tomato and onion that tops beautifully roast potatoes with aioli, the only thing missing and I'm being a sinful glutton in saying it was like a half tortilla to mop up the juicy remnants of my bowl. All in all 3 bags full lives up to the hype, perhaps choose a less crowded day to visit!

Nice cafe with big indoors and also some outdoors seating. Many gluten-free and vegan options which are clearly marked on the menu. Good value for money as portions are generous. Relatively paleo-friendly. I had the pulled lamb on pumpkin hummus and gluten-free flatbread. It was really nice to get some spiralised carrot or greens on top as well. Received my food rather quickly. The lamb and hummus were very good, but the bread was way too hard, I didn’t finish it. Told the waitress (both the positive and negative!) and she seemed hurt by my bread comment... Asked her if they had any paleo cakes but she didn’t know what paleo was. I went to check the counter and they had bliss balls (which I didn’t try).
