Picked up the chicken, pork, and lamb gyro products from Metaxas Meats, and cooked them over charcoal — absolutely sublime! We have had a mixed experience from Metaxis meats. First time - delicious . Last 2 times , not so good. Most recently bought in December 2023 , chicken okay but lamb was very ordinary and neither flavoured full bodied. Also first time we’ve had to pay for placing meat on the supplied skewer ( per kilo) . All in all, not worth the effort to get there or the price point which includes extra for threading . Had a great spit for Christmas Day with 5kg each of the lamb and chicken gyros. Note to self....pick up a few days in advance of their last day, as even though I had a pre-order, I lined up for 2.2 hours on the Saturday prior to Christmas to pick up my order. Would suggest having staff go down the line to take payments and bring out orders. Still 5 stars though as the meat is always amazing, as well...
