Actually, not too bad... Whilst I'm not new to the area, this is my first time trying this place.... Usually, on my 1st visit, I'll try a Hamburger in Batter, Sausage in Batter, 2 Potato Cakes and 2 Dim Sims.... Then, if I'm 'happy', I'll try just plain old Fish and Chips... 1st point, my order should've cost $13, it cost $17, because the guy 'threw in' a handful of Chips...... But, then CHARGED me for them!!! Hamburger-undercooked, Batter on the outer edges was crispy, but after that was soggy.... Sausage-undercooked, Batter was the same and seemed like it wasn't covering the whole thing... Potato Cakes, quite good, a little greasy. Dim Sims, Brilliant. Unasked for (but charged for) Chips,...

After living in the area for 8 years and driving past hundreds of time and thinking “ I must try that place sometime” today I did .

I was greeted by the owner as I walked in and instantly knew this guy means business, friendly, good sense of humor and very obvious he knows his customers and knows the business.

I ordered the whiting with chips and it was perfect!!! Generous servicing of hot fresh fish. The batter was very light and crispy but not too crispy that it’s hard and thick, and not soggy or over oily.

I told the owner. Knew I’d be back before even eating the food and I can report I saw right

10/10 for the food, the service and for the old school fish and chips that is hard to...

Remember the old days back in the 70's and 80's when almost all the fish and chip shops were run by the migrant families, especially Greeks, and the burgers were juicy, the fish was super fresh and the potato cakes were hand made on the premises and the food was cooked with love and the owner of the shop knew all the customers names. Well if this is what you remember and love or if this is what you are after, North Road Fish and Chips is your shop. Bill is a gentleman and his staff and family exhibit all those old fashioned values.

We have fish and chips on Friday nights and this establishment never disappoints. We highly recommend this fantastic, old fashioned fish and chip...
