19th may : (after visiting them nearly every week)
Trin trin : can you please take a take away order for me please
Spicecoconut: takes the order
Customer: hey I have lost the pamphlet you handed over for a 10% discount.
spicecoconut: No worries, when you come for pickup, we would apply for discount
Customer during pickup: whats my bill? And have you applied the discount
spicecoconut: Ohh we dont care even if you come every week. There is no discount even the pamphalets on our counter offer one !!
Customer: no worries, please go ahead
Now the unfortunate thing, take away has missing stuff.
Customer calls to inform and spicecoconut’s response : we would investigate. Clearly trying to tell the customer we dont care.
Customer thinks: when do I hear from them as a missing stuff just means I cannot consume half delivered item. Btw spicecoconut, how do I hear from you when you dont have my number.
Now the experience:
Biryani: overcooked chicken. Lamb: okay but too oily, I am sure very bad for health.
Too much sugar used in all items to invite taste buds.
May be today is my last visit as I did learn you are one of those businesses who donot know how to respect a customer you see EVERY Friday and a customer who has been spending $80 every week.
Consistency is one thing that a restaurant need to deliver however over last 3 fridays I have realised there is no consistency. My first review was fresh idli however last week the same item was...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Spice Coconut and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped inside, the warm ambiance and friendly staff set the tone for an enjoyable meal.
The menu is extensive, offering a great variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. We started with the Samosa Chaat and Paneer Tikka, both of which were bursting with flavor. The samosas were crisp and perfectly paired with a tangy tamarind chutney, while the paneer was beautifully marinated and grilled to perfection.
For the main course, I opted for the Butter Chicken, which was rich, creamy, and had just the right amount of spice. The Lamb Rogan Josh was another standout, tender and aromatic with deep, complex flavors. The accompanying garlic naan was soft and fluffy, and the basmati rice was fragrant and light.
The highlight of the meal was the dessert: Gulab Jamun. These warm, syrup-soaked dumplings were the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
The service was attentive and efficient, and the overall dining experience was top-notch. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable considering the quality of food. Panner Podi Dosa , chicken man-chow Soup is supper.
Whether you're a fan of bold flavors or simply looking to explore Indian cuisine Spice Coconut is a must-visit. I will definitely be returning! This is my visit...
Read moreFabulous! Summarised in one word. Indo Chinese dragon thali The host recommended dragon thali to us, it is an Indo Chinese dish with tonnes of variety and it is nothing short of outstanding! The best indo Chinese in South East Melbourne. The quality of ingredients is top notch, veggies A+ quality and fresh, spices to the point. No need of unnecessary oil, there is immense taste in every bite, Schezwan paneer was just deliciously soft.
Gourmet pizza The gourmet vegetarian pizza completely blew us out of the water, expecting just an ordinary run of the mill pizza from an Indian joint, couldn't believe the pizza that was served! Soft and crispy, mozzarella cheese, fetta topping, cooked to perfection! An Italian chef would have been proud of the Indian take on this pizza.
Desserts ( gulab jamun and mango phirni ) To top it off, the takeaway gulab jamun, though cold yet to be heated, a teaser bite was soo tasty, i have no words for it. Shoutout for the size of gulab jamun served with rabri, raisin and pistachios. Can't wait to heat it at home and try along with the complimentary mango phirni .
This place deserves to be shared with all the foodies who crave exceptionally good quality Indian food away from home.
