Pleasant dinner here. We were served by the Owner Chef. Every items ordered were made fresh. Sushi may take awhile to be served but it is heartening to know that every piece is made with finesse and utmost care. The slices of fish on the nigiri is slightly thin, the taste and texture will definitely compound if they serve a thicker cut. The Salmon Tuna Roll was refreshing too. The Chef steered clear of adding any artificial sauce that are all so common nowadays at sushi joints and instead chose simple and fresh ingredients to enhance the light umami that exploded within your mouth. Crab Croquette was fried fresh too, crunchy on the outside and smooth inside. Hand Roll was the dent in our dinner unfortunately, though the ingredients inside the hand roll were delicious, the seaweed was soft and soggy leaving much to be desired. Would definitely patronise this gem again and I believe they can do much better for the...
Read moreThe food was freshly cooked and full of flavour. Our family of three ordered Mixed Tempura with rice, Chicken Teriyaki Bento and Beef Teriyaki Bento, Japanese tea yang comes in a beautiful little teapot and Black Sesame Ice Cream. The tempura was so good, vegetables and seafood were fresh. The tempura batter was perfect. Chicken Teriyaki Bento (one portion of chicken teriyaki, rice, salad, harumaki, gyoza and miso soup). The whole dish was just so good. Miso soup was a nice entrèe. Our daughter enjoyed her chicken teriyaki. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Gyoza had a tasty homemade feel to it. Beef Teriyaki Bento. The beef was beyond perfection. So tender it was unreal. Too good. I’m my opinion, it was a generous size of bento box. Ice cream was nice as well. Price is very reasonable. We felt like we got a bargain with the quality of food and service we had. We will...
Read moreA difficult place to review. As someone who knows 'real' Japanese food, I would not rate this place highly. We ordered the Ikka-age, hotate-bata, nigiri sushi, tonkatsu, and wafu steak. As generic Asian food, it was ok (not great), but as Japanese food, it was far from authentic and quite disappointing, with quite ordinary selection of ingredients and very un-Japanese choice of sauces. Seriously the sauces chosen were not Japanese. Also the Tonkatsu was more battered than crumbed. As a non-Japanese owned restaurant, I don't necessarily expect real Japanese cooking, but even as a generic Asian restaurant it was simply average. Also didn't appreciate the stale imported Sapporo beer (imported from Vietnam) - the quality of the Coopers licensed Sapporo beer is much better quality. As a casual local place to eat was ok, but if you're after a Japanese restaurant I would...
