Where to start, what a joke, very poor customer service and a waste of my time and money. Deliveries are supposed to make your life easier, not harder.
I ordered through Menulog but no tracking available as the restaurant arranges their own deliveries. Around 18:15 I receive a notification to say the delivery is on the way. As the restaurant is only a 10 minute drive away (max) I waited a few minutes and then I headed downstairs to meet the driver (they always get lost trying to find the address).
This is where things start to go wrong. At 18:35 I phoned the restaurant to check the driver was on the way and I was told he was and would ‘probably’ be 10 minutes and was ‘probably’ stuck in traffic. I was perplexed that someone was guessing what was happening so I asked if they could contact the driver as if he was lost I could direct him. They said they would.
At 18:50 I phoned the restaurant again, after being stood outside in the cold for 30 minutes. I queried the delay and asked if they could call the driver as me and the food were only getting colder! They called me back around 5 minutes later to say he was still on the way and would call me… which he did at 19:05 to say he was still 5 minutes away.
It is important to note at this stage I leave full directions to all delivery drivers as they always get lost. It is written as clear as day on the receipt attached to the bag. At 19:10 I watch as the driver, having paid no attention to my directions, drives straight past me and off into the estate! I wait a few minutes for him to realise, turn around and then find me. He still parked far away making me walk to him. The biggest issue however was that after being told at 18:15 by Menulog and over the phone at 18:35 my food was on the way, the driver looked me in the eye and said he had only just received the order. So someone is lying.
Having eventually opened the food to find soft popadoms and cold main meals I phoned the restaurant again, stupidly expecting an apology or offer of compensation, when instead I was met with arrogance and incredulity. The man aggressively told me ‘food not cold, food not cold, food never cold, I come to you now I come to you now’!
The last thing I expected was to be accused of lying after knowing the food had been driving around the streets for the best part of an hour. The same length of time I was stood in the cold. To who I spoke to, I say your customer service is appalling and I find your attitude both threatening and intimidating. Absolutely disgusting.
After reheating the food (see photo) it was actually fairly nice albeit the breads were past their best.
We won’t be returning and we will sharing our experience with friends and family. Next time, own up...
Read morewe walked in to a dark restaurant where the one staff member walked over to us. the four of us asked if we can have the special outside ($20 for rice, naan and curry), she said yes. then we asked if we can have one of each of the curries listed on the poster. she said she didn’t know the poster said that and that the poster is wrong and there’s only two curry’s available (butter chicken, and beef curry) we reluctantly paid. she then proceeded to tell us it’s only take away, when both signs outside said dine in, she said she didn’t know those signs were there either. she then decided to let us sit in the dark restaurant (she soon decided to turn the lights on.)
the table she told us to sit at, was in the corner. the cutlery had stains on them (improper washing and handling), two of the four glasses had pieces of food stuck to the inside of the glass, and we found 3 ants crawling across the table.
the food came out, ridiculously small portions. especially for the price. i normally don’t eat much and that amount of food still wasn’t enough for my small apetite. we all agreed that the “butter chicken” tasted like some sort of purée tomato paste, it surprised us because we frequently eat butter chicken and were confused how they achieved such a odd flavour of curry. additionally the naan was super doughy and cold. the beef curry was okay and so was the rice.
definitely won’t be coming back again and wanted to warm others. because this was meant to be my birthday lunch...
Read moreI came in on Wednesday night to have a quiet meal to myself. 9 years ago, while living in Alphngton. I regularly have my meal here with my son , who later have helped the restaurant, while taking a course in the Everest College, in teaching the bartender some speciality cocktail drinks. I entered with a lot of hope..A young girl received me. I walked around the restaurant and chose a big table as I wanted to work on some paperwork. Jay, the host rudely told me, those tables are reserved so choose a table of two, otherwise use the tables at the back. So I asked, do you want me to leave since I'm upsetting you quite a bit. Then I whispered to Hema, please take my order as Jay is upsetting me. So she did as was told, in the middle of my order, he interrupted and ordered her to go the kitchen. I told Jay, I m thinking of ordering Gulab Jamun. Fine that will be last. Further, I told him, I will complete my order when the girl comes back. Then Jay did another blunder and told, see whatever you need tell me now as we are paying $35 an hour for labour. I looked at him and asked , do you want me to leave? Tell me what do you want. I replied ,I will wait when she comes.
Atrocious attitude Jay, close this place or retire please !!
Half an hour have past , not one soul entered to take the reserved tables.
The food I ordered was delicious. Thank God for that..Jay, people will hesitate to come despite this ...Take this as a...
